Photographer’s Note
This one may not be the best photo in my gallery but it is appropriate to post it today because of its "Learn about the world" aspect and of my personal plans to take off to enjoy well earned vacations under exotic skies.
What you see is a Boeing 727 of Bolivia's national Airline, LAB Lloyd Aereo Boliviano, awaiting passengers on Sucre airport. Obviously activity is far from frenzy and airport infrastructures are kept to the minimum, but isn't it nice to enjoy a little walk to the plane under such a bright blue sky ?
Bolivian airlines serving La Paz operated small aicrafts, mainly B 727, in 1996 because of the special traffic conditions on "El Alto" airport, situated on the altiplano at 4019m. The air there is so thin planes require much longer starting and landing distances, the runway is much longer than on airports you're used too and only small aircrafts can serve La Paz.
Flying from La Paz can also come pretty close to the title of this photo because it involves passing over the Illimani (6477m) with very limited safety distance, but LAB and Aerosur pilots master this brilliantly, only the passengers do get worried when they see the peaks approach. And of course the title relates as well to my personal activities in the coming days.
Have fun shooting and sharing, see you later folks !

Salut Jean-Yves,

Hi Jean Yves
Excellent sharpness lighting & contrast. The plane is well paced in the frame. An interesting daily life shot. Bon travail!

Bonjour Jean-Yves,

Hi Jean Yves,
The shadow looks great. Midday sun near the equator, and nothing obscuring the view.
Although these aren't quite relics yet, in Europe you don't see 727s so often anymore.
Have a great trip!

Salut JY,

Indeed a high Te value, the 727,a bit asphalt and everything surrounded by the land,-and mountainscape.Good to see that somebody is taking care of the plane on the airfield.

When I saw the title I thought the plane must be delayed and waiting for you! As you say, it's not the most artistic photo, but it's a very interesting note, and that is very much in keeping with the spirit of TE. I bet a lot of people are in the middle of making their summer travel plans right now (I know I am!) so this is a nice look ahead!

Hey Jean-Yves. First off have a great trip! My only suggestion is that you might benefit from running it through Auto Color. But you composed this very well. See ya later JY!

Hello JY, nice shot of the airplane. I think you are right. Most of the LAB aircrafts are B727. I am not sure what is the corporative look of this airline, it has changed so much the visual that I am confuse. But I do remember the original look was the one you show us today. I like the shadow of the plane. A very clear and sharp image. tfs. Gabriel

I've got to say, with a note like this an otherwise ordinary photo becomes interesting...

Hi Jean!
Interesting to still see photos of these old planes in service! Here in Brazil alone we can see the 727 operating in cargo flights, and very few, produce much pollution and noise!
Good register!
Parabéns e Abraço!

A lot of years without seen one of those old Boeing 727, it made me remember an scaled miniature I made by my self when I was about twelve many years ago, now an old plane, but at that time a brand new one.
Best regards.
