Photographer’s Note

This one may not be the best photo in my gallery but it is appropriate to post it today because of its "Learn about the world" aspect and of my personal plans to take off to enjoy well earned vacations under exotic skies.

What you see is a Boeing 727 of Bolivia's national Airline, LAB Lloyd Aereo Boliviano, awaiting passengers on Sucre airport. Obviously activity is far from frenzy and airport infrastructures are kept to the minimum, but isn't it nice to enjoy a little walk to the plane under such a bright blue sky ?

Bolivian airlines serving La Paz operated small aicrafts, mainly B 727, in 1996 because of the special traffic conditions on "El Alto" airport, situated on the altiplano at 4019m. The air there is so thin planes require much longer starting and landing distances, the runway is much longer than on airports you're used too and only small aircrafts can serve La Paz.

Flying from La Paz can also come pretty close to the title of this photo because it involves passing over the Illimani (6477m) with very limited safety distance, but LAB and Aerosur pilots master this brilliantly, only the passengers do get worried when they see the peaks approach. And of course the title relates as well to my personal activities in the coming days.

Have fun shooting and sharing, see you later folks !
