Beware of the framing: It’s part of the painting not of the picture!
To all who don't like to censor their fellow photographers
Painting And Sculpture
The sinful painter drapes his goddess warm,
Because she still is naked, being drest;
The godlike sculptor will not so deform
Beauty, which bones and flesh enough invest.
Ralph Waldo Emerson 1803-1882
Sonnet 24: Mine eye hath played the painter and hath stelled
Mine eye hath played the painter and hath stelled
Thy beauty's form in table of my heart;
My body is the frame wherein 'tis held,
And perspective it is best painter's art.
For through the painter must you see his skill
To find where your true image pictured lies,
Which in my bosom's shop is hanging still,
That hath his windows glazèd with thine eyes.
Now see what good turns eyes for eyes have done:
Mine eyes have drawn thy shape, and thine for me
Are windows to my breast, where-through the sun
Delights to peep, to gaze therein on thee.
Yet eyes this cunning want to grace their art:
They draw but what they see, know not the heart.
William Shakespeare 1564 – 1616

Dag Rob,
groeten,
Luc.

Hi Rob, I’d like to express my appreciation to your new posting. I am really pleased to see your this photo. I am viewing this picture with a good smile and enjoyment knowing all the story behind it and the way you frame this picture. I really like it quality as well as the idea for this picture. I think I saw this lady some where before, such as from here :D.
Thanks for sharing.

Hej Rob,

Magnus

Hi Rob. I'm very happy to see a new post from you. Just as Ralph Waldo Emerson was an impressive person so this shot is. Its fun how she seems to be checking out the painting. Wes is far better than I am with his eye. tfs Rob.

Hola Rob.
I'm delighted with the painting details and colours. It's so sharp, so clear, give the impression that I'm standing in front of the painting instead of the marble sculpture.
Nicely captured. Wes have excellent eyes.
Well done.

Hi Rob,
Great way to present these two pieces of art! And great use of existing framing. I can imagine looking a real lady watching real landscape like this. Maybe the best photo of art I've seen here.

Hi Rob,
I saw one of your previous posts with a nice frame and some minutes after when I was to make my critique it disappeared of your Portfolio. Sincereally I didn't understand very well the reason, but don't be deceived by that fact. Here you have a great one with excelent quality and so nicely framed and composed with no frame at all!
Very well seen, done and composed. Congratulations and all the best to you.

Hi Rob
What an excellent effect thanks to your pov of the statue which really looks as if it's admiring the painting. Lovely colours and great details.
The frame is perfect and the shot wouldn't be the same without it :)

Hi Rob,
Your ingenuity never fails us. A superb shot rendered with good clarity and warm hues. The use of the statue in the foreground and partly as a border is very original. I won't ask whose blood appears on the snow in the painting scene...Welcome back, my friend. It would be a much duller place without you.

Hi Rob, spectacular pic, but of course my first reaction as I read your note was: LOL!!! Great humor and creativity! Needless to say I of course thought it was a PP border when I looked at the thumbnail. Superb approach to the whole "affaire", I'm happy to see this excellent post. Thanks, Daniel

Creative shooting Rob and a very good use of the statue and the painting. The tight cut and crop is perfect for this photo. Good work

Bonsoir Rob

Hi Rob,
We all sense beauty only when all components are on their proper grid and I can see that happening here. I enjoyed this with a fathomless degree of fascination especially at the thought and idea that goes behind it. Congratulations!!! Have a pleasant day.

Hello Rob,
The idea is just great and a combination of two individual, original ideas. The marble lady as the beholder and the framed frame! Great artwork you created with the help of two other great artworks. Very well seen an imagined.
Congrats,

Hello Rob
The shooting angle gave the illusion of the statue coming into the painting...its color matches that of the artwork...
A creative compo!
Cheers
