Photographer’s Note
Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. Whatever for of transport you take to get to this remote city, it’s always good to see some sort of civilization again after traveling for hours through the Thar Desert. Jaisamler is well known for its Golden Fort, and according to the different books, the only living fort today in the world. There are still 20 families living in the fort.
The color comes from the yellow sandstone that has been used to construct the fort, and it originally had 99 watchtowers, now only 96 are still standing.

hi Etienne
good composition... a vast lovely blue sky with beautiful clouds... just wanted to see how it would have looked with a bit less of the sky... have experimented and posted to workshop... hope you like it...

Hoi Etienne,
groeten,
John.

Hi Etienne. Impressive complex! It surprises me that there so many of these big structures in Rajasthan, quite a nice place to visit. Maybee the ratio sky/land is a little to high but other than that a good, clear capture with an interesting subject. Well done.

Hello Etienne
A very special photo - sharp, bright and detailed with all the different squares of colour amongst the buildings. And the sky is dramatic - it has to be there. TFS, Marlene
