Photographer’s Note
Another one from Siem Reap, Cambodia.
With my 70-200 lens, I came close to this boy to take this picture. I believe that to capture a soul, we need to somehow interact with our subject. Despite the language problem, I was able to communicate with him through my smile. We can always smile but we have to be sincere in doing so. JMHO.

Fantastic. These eyes are superb and the reflection too.

Today, I posted a different kind of photo from Boracay, that i quite like, unlike most TE members it seems.;-( haha!

strange sharpness.unnatural, looks like oversharp4ened , and the first and clearest thing we see looking at it is the scarf.good for TE average, very weak for your standards

Back to form with your close cropped portraits. Excellent example here. I like the reflected background in her eyes.

Unlike nygus, I love that picture very much. A so close portrait is immensely difficult to achieve, and i think the result is excellent.
Only point that disturbs me a bit, is that my eyes tend to focus on your reflection in the boys' eyes, but it must be because i'm too close to my screen. Wait a minute... yes now i'm further i see better and your picture is wonderfull!

Hi Manuel
You really got such good gadgets that produce excellent image.
The reflection onto his eyes are well seen. That's his future, man.
Cool portrait shot, Manuel.

Fantastic portrait, so sharp and the reflection in the eyes is great. I agree that when language is a problem a smile goes a very long way!

Amazing clarity, Manuel! great capture and you can actually see the world in his eyes..The scarf hid but more than that expose the most important - the gaze.
TFS!

I think I have spent the last 20 minutes staring at this photo.
The eyes look like glass: you can see the reflection of his scarf in them. The small beads of sweat on his nose.
Absolutely amazing - intense.
Hats off for a spectacular photo!
