Photographer’s Note
When we visited Shanghai, we didn't have the chance to visit the Bund, because the city was helding a Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit and the Presidents were meeting there (former President Lagos from Chile was staying at our hotel). In compensation, we had the chance to enjoy a spectacular firework show organized in honor of the visiting presidents. It lasted about an hour and somes Chinese were so thrilled that they went to the street in PJs. I even got to see a Chinese guy in PJs on a motorcycle. That's just an anecdote to introduce my picture. I took it in Nanjing Lu, one of the busiest commercial streets in the world, which is filled with neon lights. And in the middle, the fireworks. I hope you like it.

Congratulations, a wonderful shot. A very difficoult one to take, the shining of the firewarks just lasts few seconds. The landscape is fine too, with the beautiful colours of the city lights.

Hi Yvonne,
A colorful and very festive view thanks to the bright lights and the spreading fireworks, I like the combination of this feeric moment with the necessary exotism added by the chinese neon signs.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Hi Yvonne, I had seen this wonderful night shot and I had to come back to see it again and comment. The fireworks are really magic, and it's amazing they are exploding just in front of us, in the middle of the road, instead of up there in the sky. After all, fireworks are a Chinese invention! Regards, Daniel
