Photographer’s Note

2 Chinese gentlemen, deep in conversation, just outside the old city in Lijiang, near the waterwheel. I liked the elaborate public sculpture, as a backdrop, here. Lijiang is a world heritage listed city, in Yunnan Province, in south west China.

Hi Chris, good shot. the large face over the 2 man is really strange and unusual. it seems more a sculpture of south America, than a Chinese one!

this looks as if one of the sitting men was wispering what he heard from the "sculpture" or juts the reverse - he does not want the sculpture to hear him talk;

Well as Paolo i thought you finally travel out of Asia, the background sculpture had a south america mood, but i am not a specialist. For the picture the contrast a so excellent.

Good candid detail to set off the magnificent backdrop here. Maybe a touch too much contrast here, some detail lost in shadows.

there is very much light in the shot,

A well-seen detail, Chris, of the two folks having a chat just below the sculpture. The sunlight works fine to outline the surface textures and render a sort of 3D impression. Saturation seems a bit pushed but I don't know the place.

Great juxtoposition of the two people casually chatting in front of the huge and impressive sculpture. This gives an intimate feel for the place, and shows the daily life well. Great work!

VERY VERY nice, Chris! I like it also, the deep intimate conversation and the teture of the sculpture behind (did he heard other hushed stories that other people talked, thinking it cant hear or speak??)

Good POV, not taking it from the front side, but from an angle, giving it a bit of twist...THe lighting conditions were also great, enhancing the contour of the face.

Impressive picture with great colours contrast, the sharp brown colour of the sculpture enhance your shot. Very good details. Good POV. The two gentlemen are involved in a good chat and there are not placing any attention to you.
