Photographer’s Note
Going on with my short Kinderdijk series
a five years old B/W image,scanned with
a Minolta dimage scan Dual IV.
Kinderdijk´s windmills are one of the most popular tourist attractions of the Netherlands. Situated in a polder landscape close to Rotterdam a system of 19 windmills was build around 1740 to drain the polder. Today they are on the world heritage list of the Unesco.

Hi Hermann,
For a Scanned image with your B&W option is a very nice post and a great composition. I like the enquadrement, perspective and repetitive windmills in this way that your eye catch saw very well.
Excelent work in a difficult moment and non digital root.
Congratulations.

Hi Hermann, A beautiful line of windmill. I like the low angle shot composition as if we were sitting there with you together to see the wonderful view. Nice contrast and sharpness. Well done.

Gutentag Hermann, I absolutely adore the composition here! Really excellent how you put the first mill beheaded and the others behind it! Your POV is brilliant. I must have been difficult to take a sharp image as we see in the grass that the wind is blowing quit hard. Very good job! Sabine

Hi Hermann,
Great symmetry you have achieved here in this interesting B&W format. I like the dynamism with one picturing the whirring mill arms. They each have great character. Your scan is most successful. I really like the ambience here.

Nice idea with this tighter framing to benefit from the repetitive graphism of the windmills, Hermann. Good perspective effect, and a nice well-contrasted and grainy b&w with the Ilford film.

I like the tight frame here - a nice creative B&W to show this familiar subject in a new way - I like the inclusion of the grasses and the water - another of your paths to travel down!!
best wishes Kev

Spectacular Hermann! I wouldn't have come up with the idea to capture the mills like this and I'm wrong because the result is great. The b&w is a good choice to my opinion. I like it.

Bonsoir Hermann,

A GREAT ONE

Bonjour Hermann,
Best regards.
Daniel.

I like the way you composed the shot to take advantage of the perspective, as the windmills decrease in size. I also like the low POV.

Interesting shot where the effect from the 200mm works fine as the mills seems almost placed upon each other. Effectful bw presentation.

Wow Hermann, this a very graphically pleasing picture. Due to the diagonal angle of taking and the 5 wings placed in different positions, it's very dynamic and rhythmic too. I like the set of hues here. Great job,
Have a nice weekend from Rotterdam!

Nice PoV Hermann but perhaps you could have done better by moving to lose the out of focus vegetation in the foreground (I am not above removing the odd offending branch myself).
The image is a bit flat but perhaps that's the scan but the truncated perspective is effective.

Nice prespective, with the 5 windmills in a row making a very tight composition. Great idea to cut off the top of the nearest windmill, which allows for an even tighter formation. This is the king of thing that I never think of doing. Esxellent work!

Hi Hermann
very interesting shot with all these windmills. The frame is perfect but i have a problem with the grass on the front.
However it's great.

Goedenavaond Hermann,
Prettig weekend,
John.

Hej Hermann,
The low POV is chosen very well here and creates a nice effect with the mills in a row here. B&W is also very good, well done!
Prettig weekend!

Hi Hermann - Yes I admire this place - I don't believer theres ever been 5 mill's in a row any place around here. The B&W works well here - thanks for sharing - My compliment.

Encore un alignement de moulins parfaitement mis en évidence avec un bon contre-jour.
Le contraste est très appréciable.
Je vous souhaite de passer de bonnes fêtes.
Again an alignment of windmills perfectly highlighted with a good back-light. Contrast is very appreciable.
Greetings
