Makgadigadi Salt Pan Photo

Photographer’s Note

The Makgadikgadi Salt Pans at 900 m above m.s.l. with its Nata Bird Sanctuary are all that is left today of a once great lake that covered most of northern Botswana. There are places of indescribable beauty on the shores of these pans. The silvered pans and adjacent grasslands convey an incredible sense of freedom and tranquility.

Very nice shot! I think it's a big plateau... I like the colours of the ky and the ground. Good framing! I liki it.

I really like the colours of the sky and the sand on the plateau. The framing is very nice and the two rocks and truck give it a nice depth.

I really like this shot. The truck gives it character but the detail of the rocks in the front gives it great depth.Excellent.

Your point of view in this shot is excellent, Michael. I like how you have framed it with the 50/50 horizontal split. Excellent contrast between land and sky. The 'Martian' foreground is interesting.
