Photographer’s Note
In the middle of Hanoi is Hoan Kiem Lake, a center of public life of the city. People relax under the trees, sell goods, and, mainly in the early morning, do exercises. There are two temples on islands in the lake. This one, Den Ngoc Son or "Jade Mountain Temple", is accessible from shore via a bright red footbridge. The other temple, and some of the exercisers, are visible in this shot.
The temple is a popular place with both locals and tourists, so you have to be patient to get this sort of shot!

Excellent capture of the incense and smoke, Ken. Framing and DOF is good, and the woman stepping out of the temple adds a human element to the composition. You've achieved good sharpness on the incense sticks for a scan. Cheers . . . David

Great shot Ken! Very vibrant and alive - the colours really jump out at me, and the close up of the incense is very evocative of the place. Well done!

The red colors contrasting the blue smoke and the blue lady, is nicely seen in this slight perspective, those incense sticks are so big ! she looks like she was taken a bit by the smoke ....
