Photographer’s Note
Yeah, I know, another children's shot ;-), but this time from that wonderful day in Asuncion with Kike, who invited Isabel and me in his house, and made us such a warm welcome. Again, Kike, thanks very much, it was a lovely (short) stay.
We went into the centre of Asuncion, where every saturday something special is taking place, mainly dance at that particular saturday, but also this all time favorite and world wide play: "sack race" (What's it in English? Walking the bag?;-)) Thanks, Narayan!
Pulp es nuestra!
In the back you can see the orange party tents with Paraguay's Pride and Joy: PULP. Pulp is an orange drink, which is proudly made in Paraguay and is a competitor for Coca Cola, CC has done quite a lot to buy 'Pulp' but so far it is still Paraguayan, and no wonder they are proud of it!

Hi, Rinie! Another children's shot, yes, but so nice and sensible as the others you've done. It's amazing the way you catch happiness in your pics! Bravo! Miguel.

Hello Rinie! Hey, great shot, I like the atmosphere of this image, the expression on the boys faces is wonderful and also the different reactions from the spectators. In english, it is called a sack race. nice job.

It is beatiful shot, this boy must be having a lot of fun, it would have been even more effective if you included more of the road and some other competing kids. Well done

Hi Rinie,
Good shot. The real fun seems to be somewhere ahead of the boy in the sack. The audience is looking at it smiling, and so is the boy himself. Intrigerend.
Thanks and regards, Gerrit

What a sweety this little boy, he looks so excited you would expect him to fall within the next few seconds. I guess he is one of the last in the race since all the onlookers are focussed on something infront of him, in this sport though I guess it's even fun to fininsh last :o)
Really nice shot Rinie.

Hello RInnie,
Great street scene,
very interesting expressions.
I dont want to be mean, but the boy's teeth look rabit-like, and the fact that he is jumping makes it even funnier.

Hi Rinie. A delightful scene from your South America visit, with the boy enjoying a moment of baghopping (not sure if that's the word) in front of the cheerful crowd. A very happy and uplifting photo. Also good to have the "Pulp" stand included in the back, enabling you to add some interesting trivia about this local favorite drink.

Hi Rinie, delightful work, the enthousiasme and total engagement is very strong here. The diagonal compo is the way to go here since it induces great dynamics and the DoF singles the action out in a fine way. Very good!
Have a nice weekend,
Bert

Hi Rinie, I really like this - the depth of field is very nicely balanced - the capture of expression spot on - I wonder if a slightly lower POV would have created a better separation of the main subject from the crowd and made the image a little more dynamic - but as it is a very nice shot.
best wishes Kev

Wonderful how you placed the boy here,Rhinie!
He looks so crisp against the unsharp spectators in the background. You clicked in the right moment and captured a lovely expression too.
Have a nice week,

Hi Rinie,
I have been left out of such goodies! I mean I haven' kept track enough and now am amazed at your recent shots...:-)
The boy's face is so radiant, his joy in taking part in this funny bag race is so clear. Wonderful shot, warm and filled with joy, both on the boy's part and on the parents' and onlookers'. Exactly what I needed on this cold winter night!

heyyyyyyyyyyy!
I have a deja vu feeling!!!!
jajajaja
I remember that race, and later on the girls ran, (I may post this week a pic too).
Nice shot, action in its best!
In Paraguay they name it (carrera bosa), carrera means race, and bosa means bag in guarani.
Thanks for showing a bit of my country and I thank you again for coming visit me,
anytime you like you will be welcome!

Oh, yup, sack racing or potato sack racing. Excellent depth of field Rinie. And nicely composed, using triangles and depth and positioning well. There's a lot of energy here. He has a lot of forward momentum and that look on his face is one of sheer joy. You can tell he's having a great time. And in the background the line of spectators form a boisterous audience. It's as if they're really into it, cheering him and the other competitors on. And there's a lot of joy and laughter on their faces as well. All around it's really warm and happy.

Hi Rinie,
I like this action shot !
The dof is perfect ; the boy is perfectly sharp whereas the people in the background are blurred, but visible.
So many smiles in this picture. The composition is very good.

Hi Rinie,
I thought I better touch base with you as it seems we will be meeting some time in May...(via Richard & Kev).
This is awesome...you captured the mood well and placed yourself so it loks like you were the only person on this side of the crowd.
Scanning the comments so far, I will just echo other's...yes, timing is spot on and his expression is priceless.
I must say, I have not looked through your gallery in much detail, but it comes highly recommended. I look forward to seeing more.
