Photographer’s Note

Finally today after 400 posts I manage to upload a photo from the United Kingdom that I kindly dedicate to my TE friends west of the tunnel as well as to our diaspora representative in Basel ;-)
Actually I went to the UK a number of times in both London and Manchester for leisure and business but I have a surprisingly low number of photos, for those who might wonder NO I did NOT spend all my time in the pubs...

This colorful guy is one of the famous Yeomen of the Guard, an elite corps founded in 1485. Their purpose is now to guard the precious jewels of the British Crown presented to the public in the famous Tower of London.

Bonjour Jean-Yves,
J'aime l'attitude de ce garde, fière, port altier, favoris à l'ancienne, costume taillé sur mesures.
Chaussures cirées à l'extrême, on verrait presque refléter la Tour de Londres.
J'aime beaucoup.

Very distinctive pose from the guard. It took 400 photos to upload a Bristish shot eh? How long to upload a Korean one JY?;)

Not bad for a scan..the sky cae aout a hit streaky though.

Ce gardien est bien pris et on peut voir la fierté qu'il a de garder les précieux joyaux de la Couronne !
Bien réalisé, je regrette juste le manque de couleurs à l'arrière-plan...

Alors on jaunit sa carte? :-)
Très beau le portrait en pied de ce garde très British. Mais ce qui me plaît le plus dans ta photo c'est l'espèce de mat à l'arrière plan qui me donne l'impression qu'il y a une touriste qui joue les majorettes... c'est trop drôle!

tiens un personnage comme sujet, ce n'est pas si courant dans ta galerie.
T'es sûr qu'il fait partie d'un corps d'élite ?
Ou plutôt un corps (qui indique une bonne consommation) des litres (de bières) ? ;-)
Le flegme britannique est bien représenté ici.

Hey Jean-Yves. That guy needs to have a talk with his boss about updating his uniform, lol! Happy 400 shots as well. What captures my attention here are the people in the background and of course the architecture. Maybe a tad on the dark side but everything else is good. tfs Jean-Yves!

Glad you have finally got round to my country! I was wondering why Great Britain was missing. I must say you don't see these guards posing like this often. They are very serious and staid in my experience. A nice portrait and good capture. I awiat your Japanese and Korean shots with interest!!

I know what you mean about not having a lot of photos, I too have few of England. I suppose taking pictures is not on our mind much when we sightsee....
