Hey what a shot....
I must say i found so dynamism in this pic, probably not before it.
It deserves all qualities of a good pic.
Only the dirty things in front is little distracting.
otherwise it is Extra-ordinary hot.

Well chosen point of view, resulting in an appealing diagonal composition. This and the low shutter speed enhance the dynamism of the image. The contrast is a bit low, but that might have been your choice. Once again, a vivid presentation of a disturbing reality.

Hi Maciej,
I'm always sad when I see this place...
But that's the truth, in 2005, many people live on garbage.
This picture is full of movement and shows that kids can having fun there.
I like the second kid's position ! ;-)

Great perspective created by the 3 kids.

I like the large space to dedicated to the boy on the top-right giving power and attention to his character.

The 2nd boy attitude (expecting the ball) is simply funny, good timing for the shot.

They are kids after all !

This is damn near perfect! The poses of the the boys are so well defined and so 'right' that it could not have been planned any better. The positioning of the subjects and particularly of the ball, in mid flight, is also amazing. The field being a garbage dump adds a lot of feeling and emotion to this. Did I also mention the extraordiary soft light? This is truly stunning!

Kids are kids everywhere. The blur concentrates us tot eh kids and maybe for a short while they are so enthralled in their game they forget the harsh reality of their lives.

Uwielbiam twoje zdjecia z SEA. To jest Macku twoja specjalnosc, mysle ze twoja pasja. I dodam ze robisz najlepsze zdjecia tego typu na TE. I za to cie cienie, potrafisz widziec piekno w kazdej sytuacji. Bo to co robia ci chlopcy jest piekne. Potrafia odciac sie od tej fatalnej sytuacji, tego fatalnego zycia i poprostu byc dziecmi.

And back to your Cambodian garbage dump series. there are questions I have to ask. Did you meet the kids you'd met last year? How did they receive you (if you did)? Did you try to find them?

Anyway, great composition, timing and dynamism. The ball leads you to the boy waiting for it and at the same time there's another one coming from opposite direction. and you start to wonder if he's simply passing by or wants to join them or maybe grab the ball before the one in between gets it (as I used to play when I was a kid). Oh yeah, that was football!:) Did the one crouching catch it, anyway?

There's also one thing I need to add. I find the title and the note a bit inconsistent. Is that the time after or before work? Or is it that some of them work nights and some work days? I'm a bit ignorant in that but can't they wait until dawn at least? Sorry to bother you with all these questions but you seem to be a TE expert in Cambodian garbage dumps :))

How not to like this image? If it had been printed in a magazine it would not look out of place amongst pictures produced by paid photographers. The documentary quality of this image is superb, as are the colours. The timing of the ball mid flight, the pose of kicker and goally catch the moment perfectly. Shame you weren't in Cardiff twenty to thirty years ago to catch the end of the Welsh mining communities - I have a feeling the subject matter would have been to your liking.
