Photographer’s Note
I was on an archaeological excavation in Bavaria (Germany), and a fairly revered German archaeologist (centre) came to see our site towards the end of the dig. The guy on the left is the site director, and as you can see he was quite nervous!
The excavation was in a forrest which gave me quite contrasty lighting most of the time. On this occasion however (and coupled with the paper they are holding) it worked in my favour!
(BTW: not sure about the state - we were working at a place called Nußdorf near a lake called Sondermoning. No idea what state it was though!)

This gives a whole new understanding of Germany's "Black Forest" :-)
Welcome to TE Mark. You have made very good use of that corridor of light coming through the thick trees to your dig site.I find the brightness of the paper a little distracting though. You might consider using a photo editing magic wand to grab the paper and reduce some of that brightness.
Just out of curiousity, what are the excavations revealing in that forest Mark?

superb natural light! And good working moment, too!
For my taste this photo has a slight shift to reds, I'd correct color balance.

He could be Gandalf with some magic light. I guess the light comes from above, through a glimpse in the trees, but it looks like it's coming from the old man's hands - he's like a wizard. Really nice shot, excellent composition.

The lighting is magical, but I also love the expressions on their faces and the hand that pops up. It's a neat compostition. Great job!
