Photographer’s Note
The Cathedral of Vienna (Stephandom) is in the centre of the city, and is visitted by a lot of people every day. Because I had no tripod, I used my backpack as a bean bag. I put it on a bench, rotated my camera 90° because I wanted the ceiling included in the picture, and shot for 10 seconds (not 8, as in the technical data). The people 'look' blurred because they moved in that time lapse. I think the result is interesting.
I have made no other research about this cathedral, so if someone knows more, please fell free to include it in the critique.

Hola Jurgen

Felicitaciones. Saludos.

Hello Jürgen,
I think this is a superb photograph, and totally undervalued. Shot four years ago, it captures the architectural majesty of the architectural edifice, and includes a blurred view of the crowd milling about. In my new book, "Leonardo's Universe," (to be released by National Geographic Books in January 2009), there is a similar view of Leonardo's unrivaled "Last Supper." Similarly shot with a time exposure, the majestic mural is in excellent focus and resonates with pemanence, while the blur of the crowd appears ephemeral and fleeting.
Have a good weekend, a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!
Bulent
