Photographer’s Note

It's about time I started posting some photos after a long break. This one is taken from a holiday in Mallorca where I was relaxing with my family. This area of Mallorca is relatively quiet compared to other areas and is surrounded by mountains which give a tremendous backdrop.

This photo is taken from the front terrace of our hotel, looking out to sea. I like the way the fading sun is highlighting the mountains in the distance and the change in colour from the bottom of the sky to the top.

Good shot, I like the way the palm trees are silhouetted in the foreground and the mountains are lit up in the background and all the different colours in the sky. Nice one.

hi paul welcome back, this is a nice shot to come back with, the sky and colours are lovely as is the silhouette of the tree, i think it would be better to have included all of the tree but i know that it was probably cut off by the top of the balcony! well done nice to return with!

Welcome back Paul. The colours of the sky are beautiful and I love the silhouettes of the tree and the beach umbrellas. Straight horizon too :o)

hi Paul.
a great vacation photo. I am sure it will bring back a lotta good memories. I like this composition a lot, and with the colors in horizon, it looks perfect.
2 things I did however in a workshop. First, cloned out the black object (which is probably a roof of something) from the upper right corner, and 2, adjusted some of the colors, mainly the reds, to get better saturated results. take a look. I hope it's helpful.

Hi Paul, welcome back.

A lovely composition here - good strong, interesting silhouette and great colour in the sky.
I note you've avoided the mistake of including too much unnessecary foreground (it would be just blackness anyway.

Might have been worth cloning out, or re-composing out the top right hand corner (umbrella?)... but this is a minor criticism.

Nice shot Paul;

Mallorca looks like a beautiful place. I like your composition on this shot, how you chose to include the palm tree- resulting in the silhouette. My only suggestion would have been to chose another tree so as to not get the roof at top right, or to just crop it out completely (unfortunately resulting in the loss of more of the top of the tree).
Regardless, a small point on an otherwise nice shot..

A great image, I have posted a similar one from the Costa del Sol in Spain (Marbella). I really like the mountain backdrop and the abandoned beach umbrellas. Well seen,
