Photographer’s Note
In Fagernes (I don't know which part of Norway - help needed), our hotel was located close to this. I walked around it after dinner and I liked the moody feel of the setting sun and the cloudy sky. This is a very simple shot...just my way of reliving those glorious days I spent in Norway a few weeks ago.
I am very proud to announce to everyone that I finished up my Norwary gallery in pbase. And I am VERY proud of my shots...not the usual portraits! Hey guys...I know how to shoot landscapes and seascapes too (though I need to practice a lot more). :)
Here's the link. I would appreciate your comments:

Such a dramatic light, Manny. A great work of contrast and colors. You captured the atmosphere perfectly.

Hi Manuel
I like the diminishing linear perspective & vanishing point. Excellent sharpness, & I like the dark, sombre, mood. Well done!

Hi Manny,
I like your POV of the bridge which forms contrasting line in your frame with the surrounding darkness. Excellent contrast between the sky and the dark waters. I actually envy you..:) becos every time i try to do this, my picture becomes overexposed. I will have to master the exposure settings of my camera.!
Thanks for sharing

A stunning shot! The clarity and sharpness of the bridge is amazing, and the sky is certainly very moody. Did you use a filter with this shot?
Great capture!

Hello Manny
nice one, good POV and frame. The light give a strange atmosphere. good exposure, but on my screen a little too dark.
IMO it's easier to photograph a landscape than a person, you have the time to frame, adjust the exposure ... But, i understand that is very different kind of photo... i'll try to do some portraits soon

Good framing work on this one, Manny. The few available elements are well aligned in the photo, and the special mood from the combination of weather and time of day is well rendered.
I looked at your pbase gallery and am impressed. I always told you that you can just as well shoot landscapes, and it certainly is confirmed by your work on display there, so well done. I also think that any of the "locals" would be extremely happy with the scenes and moments you found to portray your perspective of Norway. If I may remark something critical though (and I know you will understand this as the constructive feedback of a friend, which is exactly what I am trying to give): I think you overdid the post processing in quite a few cases where it makes the photos look like a Las Vegas version of what could better be presented in a more natural way.

wonderful shot manny! I am impressed by the sharpness of this shot.. While having my D70 at the repair shot at Nikon, i asked them to have a look at the focus for i never get such a clear and crisp sharpness as you do... i 'll go check your gallery upon return from vacation..
i am off tomorrow morning for 2 well deserved weeks of vacation.
See u

Now Manny,
this is something new to me (coming from your camera)... and your PBase gallery is great, btw!
Cheers!
Great compo and mood created by these darkish oily colours all over and high contrast to accentuate lines & textures.
There's a certain amout of damp and wettness in this photo that also create fine feeling to it, almost as if it was shot right after the rain...
Dramatic, but still calm at the same time.
I love it!

The adress should be: Oppland, not "Sogn og Fjordane"
What a pity you never mentioned this trip Manny, even after discussing it last year.
This one is just 30 minutes with car from the place where I have my cottage and I could sure have offered some special (local) experiences this evening "beyond the hotel experience".....
This one is from Fagernes Hotel with the nice pedestrian bridge leading out to the the small island in the lake Strandafjorden.
Very good use of light and tech., depth and perspective in this one.

It's refreshing to see your recent posts now include landscapes and seascapes. This is quite a long bridge, I like how you showed the length of the bridge. The wave ripples on the water are also nice! I've checked your gallery, and your posts are really very good! rgds.

May Manny, been meaning to critique this shot for a while now, its a very strange capture, the sky doesnt seem to fit the land I dont think. Its a good effect with the overexposed sky, I think it suits this photo and it wouldnt look as good otherwise. Nice lead in with the bridge.
Well taken, strange but good : )

As a norwegian this picture makes me proud of "my" country. I like the way the bridge is placed and it feels like i can just walk through my screen and out on to the bridge. Nice lines and colors.
Good work!

Impressive shot and impressive Gallery I understand you are proud of yourself..
Did you use a polarizer to do this kind of effect with the clouds ??
and what about the bridge did you use a big DOF??
I just wondered how you make your landscape a bit dramatic and I love it
Beautiful
