Photographer’s Note
World Windmills War (WWW) continued...
News from the front: "Behind Enemy Lines..."
Yesterday has been a hard day at the front as the Dutch troops had to face a last hope Portuguese attack. But our troops are solid and quick appropriate reactions soon followed here and there
During the night in a stealth action no Portuguese Mill has been able to spot, the Dutch Elzasskorps has taken control of Monsaraz, the proof of it can be seen in the WS
Portuguese are advised to surrender quickly as our demand for port, vinho verde, ameijoas, queijo, bacalhao, etc... will increase with time.
----------------------------------------
Previously prepared version of the note:
Portuguese Alentejo region is full of nice little villages located on top of hills with stunning views and great architectural value. Today I show you Monsaraz that is located on the way to Spain starting from Evora.
You can see here the entrance tower to this walled village and part of its eclatant white houses. The plates displayed on the wall indicate an artesania shop and also can tell I had plenty of time to take photos while my wife was browsing the shop ;-)

Bonjour JY
Interesting scene here. I like the view through the archway, the textures in the tower and the curious collection of plates on the wall! The cobbled path leads the eye in well too.

Hi Jean Yves,
the blue and white are fantastic friends, one of the best color partnerships for beautiful photography.
I noticed the small plates hanging on the wall on the right side. They are the only indication of life in this place, as it all looks very empty. Short of a human presence in the photo, I think that its a good thing to add some human touch to the composition.

Hello, Jean Yves!
Very well composed scene. I especially like the combination of a white wall and a tower made of brick and stone. It emphasizes the contrast in Your scene.

Congratulations! You did a fine job, and you immediately started to do some remodelling with the walls, this is really a fine job, and I don't think the Portuguese have an answer to this. Even the birds are fleeing from the town! Those round plates, do they think it's there to prevent evil coming in? They are so naive!!
Very good job, Jean Yves. We will not forget you when the war is over, we'll share all the Portuguese goodies!

I like the diminishing linear perspective, & the arch, appearing right on the vanishing point. Good color & tonal range. Tres bon!

News from the front:
While JY was doing his spy work in Monsaraz we were undercover working as local craftworkers in that shop, we conviced JY wife to buy all type of local pottery and spend all his money.
By know JY must have dozens of small spies in his house, investigating his next moves...
Jean, have you bought any small painted cock? ;)

Salut Jean Yves,
Mais ta photo me plait bien !

Hi Jean Yves - something about this photo is very satisfying. I have a hard time putting my finger on it, but the combination of the different elements is just right. I also like the soft sky with the wall and tower - it works very well. Well done!

Bonsoir Jean Yves

Counter-espionage I see. The Dutch have sent 2 spy planes to Portugal!
Beautiful photo Jean-Yves, The sweep of the white wall leads your eye right to the arch. Well captured.

Hello JY. I like your WS better than the original, hahaha!!!! I'm really impressed that you were able to make such a good composition in the euforia of the Dutch victory over this beautiful city. I suppose that the two plates with the painted cock and chicken hanging on the wall were soon replaced by Delft blue plates with nice Dutch windmills and cows?

Amicalement
