Photographer’s Note
Roussillon, Provence, France is one of the many very picturesque hill top villages in the region. This town is known for the 'sands of ochre' - the best source of ochre pigment for artistic paints.

Beautiful city, too bad you didn't had a good light because the red are incredible when the sun is good

Very beautiful and sharp picture. The rising sunbeams gives a nice colours-contrast on the pitoresque houses. I like the composition and the point of view.

Hi John,
A well composed scene, rendered with great soft tones of summer from an excellent POV. The ochre look certainly prevails, and it is most pleasing - perhaps this is the equivalent to Cotswold stone! Good lighting and ample sky to balance the shot very much enhance. Well seen and captured. Regards.

Very good side lights on the village. It's possible to appreciate the architecture volume with a nice play between shades and luminosity.
Cheers.

Hi John, nice to look at your french pictures, good choice to visit PACA region, one of the most beautiful for me in France.
Typical village built on a little hill, almost looks like an italian village ... I would love to settle there when i'll be father and older :-)
... I see this was posted in 8/05, and since i discovered your last upload i'm sure if you would have to post it once again you would perhaps do different, isn't it ? .. I would suggest perhaps a little more light
