Photographer’s Note
I thought about the title of 'Yangshuo IV', but picked this instead. Taken in Yangshuo near where the tour boats depart for the trip upriver to Yangdi & Guilin. Some of these fishermen, in their sampans, use cormorants (birds) to catch the fish for them.
In some places along the river, they harvest the freshwater seaweed, growing in the river, to supplement their diet. Across the river, is where the boats coming downriver from Guilin berth.

Lots to look at here, Chris - great mountains in the background and plenty of activity in the foreground. The fisherman adds a lot to the scene. I might crop the bottom to just above the rock, but it's a nice shot - well done.

Hi Chris,
The blue water on the foreground, with the boat and the driver, the house boats harmonise with the environment, again the hill on the background make your picture lovely, perhaps a little overexposed in the middle, perhaps of the scanning Chris!
Best regards,
John.

Hi Chris,
You have found the most suitable POV with the mountains, houses and the boats very well seen. The fisherman is also very well placed and adds activity in the otherwise quiet atmosphere. Well done!! Have a nice day.

A logical choice of the vertical format to get all the relevant details into a single frame, Chris. Again an interesting background from the uniquely shaped formations, and a nice vivid element provided by the fisherman in the sampan.

Good POV here for this place and the Sampan looks small according to all elements in.
Nice place to discover with you.

Hi Chris. I like the way you filled the frame out with the tree branches. The only thing I would do is bump up the sharpness a little. On the water sharpness is perfect but everything else could use some more. But the depth seems to go on and on. Well done Chris.

Missin a bit sharpness I think in this deep colored shot on several levels radiating this clear sunny reflections lightening up all details.
Good colored compo and framing.

Hi Chris,
AGain here a nice view of this place that slightly becomes famous here because of your posts, we can guess from the boats that it gets touristy (probably masses of TEers with their cameras will storm the place soon...), the view is luminous and I like you choice of vertical format as it increases depth.
Have a nice week end,
Jean-Yves
