Photographer’s Note

Here are the silhouettes of Kronborg Castle in the city of Elsingor/Helsingør, a castle which is famous because Shakespeare's "Hamlet" in this castle.

It is one of the three Danish objects which is on UNESCO's list of the world's most precious cultural assets.

The castle got its name in the 16th century by King Frederik II (when the castle was renovated in Renaissance style), but Kronborg was already build in 1422 by King Erik of Pommern.

It was build on important strategic place by the Øresund, the narrow water between Danmark and Sweden and the entrance to the Baltic Sea.

It took this photo when the sun was going down and the sky had a very dramatic look. I sharpened the photo, increased the contrasts and softened some noice in the sky a bit. The castle is unfortunately not more detailed, but that is probably not possible with this kind of light.
