Photographer’s Note

A winters day in Kunming, (China) which is about 1,900 metres above sea level. Apparently, this was the heaviest snowfall in the city for 80 years.

My flight to Chiang Mai was delayed 25 hours.

A nice POV and composition. It does give an awkward feeling and atmosphere with all the snow around. I guess the place is not quite prepared for this heavy snow fall. Nice shot to show this exceptional moment. Best regards.

Hi Chris,
A welcomed refreshing photo, you may have winter now but here today will be 34°, so I enjoy seeing this very well ! Possibly they are not so used to snow, because there does not seem to be actually so much here, at least not enough to delay a flight 25 hours !

Hi Chris, thanks for the refreshing image. Yesterday it was 34°, and today it's going to be around 30° again. So, this cold image comes at a good moment. It's quite a lot of snow.

Quite an antidote to the hot summer days we are currently having in Western and Central Europe, Chris. Well composed placing the fountain in the foreground, and obviously the huge layer of fresh snow looks a bit incongruous with the surroundings such as the flowerpots in the foreground.

That really is different. I don't think I've seen a shot of China in the now befreo. Most of the people I know go tere in teh summer.

Tu as fait le bon choix avec cette note de fraicheur ! Il fait très chaud chez nous en ce moment et la neige serait bienvenue sur nos sommets ;-))
Une photo dans laquelle la neige n'a pu cacher les couleurs de tous les éléments. C'est agréable.
