Photographer’s Note
The yungan grottoes outside Datong have 50 000 statues of varying size. I posted another picture of this particular statue earlier (Buddha I). In this picture you can see how it's inside a system of caves.

Interestng composition and dark-light effect...I really like this pic because its enigmatic approach gives the idea of a mystic and sacral atmosphere...thanks for sharing !

That's very well done... The shapes are fantastic and this site of Datong seems to be a magical place!

Hi Simon, your composition here make the image work.. you don't show us everything but bits.. that's nice. I also enjoy the two dark sides in the image.
It's a very good one.

Great, almost abstract composition - shame you couldn't get more of the budha's face in the shot (I suppose the lay of the land made that impossible).

Hello Simon,
Here is a picture that would definitely fit in an ART BOOK. The way you framed it, the " ambience " light around, and the monochrome makes it great really.

Good play of light and shadows.
Could you have positioned your camera to prevent the big Buddha's hand from hiding half of the small Buddha's face?
Good work Simon!
Thành.
