Seaside Promenade Photo

Photographer’s Note

Here is a view of the seaside promenade in the beautiful Slovenian coastal town Piran on the Istrian peninsula. As you can see, colors and buildings relate the style to nearby Italy (Piran faces Venezia).
Due to the big number of restaurants on the right side I had to reduce a bit the perspective to concentrate the view on the picturesque elements at the end of the promenade.

C'est assez incroyable de voir la diversité géographique de ta galerie.
Cette image est superbe. Une belle perspective qui débouche sur une tache de couleur.

tiens justement des amis en reviennent et ils n'ont pris aucune photo. heureusement que tu es là !
ça a l'air mignon cette petite promenade en bord de mer, le point de vue est pas mal, j'espere que tu ne t'es pas tordu les chevilles dans les rochers. belles couleurs sur les facades, on sent bien qu'on est pas loin de la Méditerranée.

For sure, there is a noticeable Italian influence, which is expected, as Sloveniais right next to Italy. This kind of archiutecture can be seen as far west as Spain even, Im sure that its a Meditterenean thing influenced by Italy. The photo is wonderful, once again you show us a great composition here with great vivid colors.

Very pleasing colours and composition. I like alternation of the coloured houses and the stone ones. It makes an interesting rhythm. The area of light stones in foreground seems to be reather large and grabs too much attention, however you probably could not omit it from the view. Well done!

Hello Jean. I have seen your name on alot of the friends I know in Trek. Then I opened up your Intro to see how many contacts you have listed. Oh my goodness sir. how long have you been on Trek?
Now as to this photo..

I really like how you put this challenging shot together. We have a little sea...lots of rock a pathway and the buildings in bright color. It is a very interesting photo. Its amazing how close people put their buildings to the sea. Having the pathway act like a veryimmportant lead in to the scene. this is interting to look at and its a lovely posting.

J'aime ta compo avec ces rochers et la petite promenade sur la droite.

J'ai reconnu tout de suite le littoral méditerranéen avec ce bleu de la mer et cette intensité lumineuse.
Un très bel endroit. Il doit y avoir pas mal de vestiges et monuments sur le littoral de ce pays si proche mais que je ne connais pas.

Another nice capture from this pretty and colorful old town, JY. Nice perspective built in this view along the beach promenade and overlooking the stones of the embankment. Good clarity and sharpness, nothing much to criticize here.

This looks like a nice place to be! I've heard before that Slovenia is Pretty and maybe this is just a small evidence!

Hi Jean-Yves. I like how you built the shot around this beautiful rock seawall. Yes I immediate assumed because of the architecture this was in Italy. But the colors come across well and the contrast is good too. I might have included more water, but that's the only thing I'd do differently. Nice one J-Y!

c'est vrai qu'il y a un petit air de mediterranee ici, elle a l'air sympa cette promenade. J'aime bien les couleurs des maisons tres, d'inspiration italienne non ? Le cadrage est sympa avec ces gros rochers en premier plan.

Je suis passé en slovénie étant gosse mais cela s'appellait encore la Yougoslavie. Les couleurs sont en tout cas attrayante et la composition avec ces rochers en avant plan est bien faite. Bravo!

I happened to see this photo (posted long ago, though) which appeared as a random photo in your gallery, and it looks so attractive! It's the bright sunny day and the "sea ambience" which makes this view very nice. I also like the rich, and yet natural colours! very good composition, interesting perspective.
