One of the most beautiful fountain of Rome. It s Agrippa who brought the Acqua Vergin to Rome by building an acqueduc in the century b.c.. The fountain works started in 1641 and was was finished by the architect Salvi(1735). The sculptures on the right are said to represent the legend of the soldiers of Agrippa who were in the countryside looking for water and met this young girl who indicated them a pure water source. it s in the memory of this girl that they gave the name "virgin" to this water source. On the left, it s Agrippa explaining the plan of the acqueduc to Auguste. In the middle is the "Ocean s statue" in a shell shape cart pulled by winged horses.

Altough it is a very known image, the night makes it different in this photo. The sky is perfect black and the golden light on the fountain makes this picture very nice to see.

very nice capture. the lighting makes the fountain look like it's made of gold. I like the "fantomw" passing by? nice contrast between the sky and the fountain. I like this place a lot. I stayed there for a while when I was in Roma.

The lighting is very beautiful here. The pitch black sky serves as a perfect backdrop for this scene. The clarity of the architectural details are truly remarkable.
