Photographer’s Note

Although kind of 'cutesy kitsch', these panda bears on sale, outside the research station, north of Chengdu, caught my eye. I liked the green bamboo additions to some of them.

There were about 4-6 real panda bear cubs, inside the centre, in January 2002, but I respected the 'no flash / photography' request signs.

Simple but well working compo,nice graphic effect thanks to the different sized Panda bears.The green and red color spots are fine details.

nice repetition ,it could be a black and white photo if the bamboo leaes were not added. nice graphic and funny shot.

Hi Chris. Good use of repetition in this fun photo of the variously-sized panda figures. Simple, but quite delightful. Interesting to have just a few dashes of color in the predominantly b&w setting.

I would like also more real panda because they are threatened of disappearance now! Anyway, it's a very nice graphical effect with all this pandas in line and with different seize. Well seen!
