Photographer’s Note
Well, I often take photos of cliches, but I really would learn to take photos of other genres as well. So please be honest about what you think of this experiment.
About the photo:
This is the more indurstrial part of Gothenburg (the second biggest city of Sweden) between the center and the river Gösta Älva. I also took this photo when I was standing on the brigde over the Gösta Älva.
I also posted a photo of that bridge the day before yesterday. I was standing on the left site. The glass corridor is for pedestrians that want to walk from the shopping mall the boats by the river.
The photo looked a bit dull/flat, so I had to boost it a bit up. I increased the contrasts, light, sharpness and saturation a bit. Especially the light and the contrasts. The photo is also cropped. I wish there also was a green car on the photo, in the same colour as the crane, but there was only a white and a blue Volvo and a white truck.

It's like Madrid!! The environment is obviously ugly but it is very nice to have this kind of pictures on TE. It helps to understand the reality much better. I like it.
Good job!

Excellent experiment, I think.
Very well composed and detailful image. Great mix of cranes, vehicles and urban structures. The mix of strong horizontal and vertical lines works well, too.

Hi Stef,
I think this is interesting because there is a different aestethic in it. Everything looks chaotic at first, but ther must be some order behind it. Technically, well done, and you were lucky with the sky and the light, which gave you great colors.

Hi Steft,
I agree photos of not such pretty places can be more interesting. Its a good try this photo, I think there is a slight something missing to it, but its obviously not easy to find a good point of view in such scens particularly given the vastness of the place. I do like the lone car. If anything maybe straightening out the photo a bit and including more of the crane, the sky was great that day.

Hi Stef, You certainly have recorded the busy construction site. This is a different from your style of picture in the past. It is a nice picture. A clean, clear and well contrasted picture. It is interesting to see all cranes there.

Nice experiment. Gothemburg seems to be a busy city as a harbour usually is. I like the way you detail your work. I like also the composition, I mean the different stages of working town : the roads, the building site, the cranes.
Regards, David.

I agree it is not very beautiful but the spirit of TE is learn about the world trough photography which doesn't mean showing the most beautiful photo. Here you show us that Gothenburg is a living city and I like your idea to frame the green crane on the right and the cars on the left. Well seen!

I think it's a nice composition. I liked the many lines formed by those huge mechanic arms. It realy reminds me work. hehehe Good job! One day I'll learn to do that too. hehehe Regards!

Much activity in this shot,Stef! The overview of this place is a bit busy, maybe concentrating on details would have given better photo opportunities.Under the general TE theme "learning about the world through photography it´s certenly a good one.
If you had call me,I would have come with my green Volvo to balance your compo ;-)))

Hi Stef. I think this is a most successful experiment. I like how the cranes appear to be dancing with each other. I'm happy with the post-processing you did and don't see anything else that might need a tweak. Nice one Stef.

Hallo Stef,
Prachtige foto.

Now we all can see what I mean Göteborg is one of the least attractive cities is Sweden. This is a way to normal sight for the traveller coming into the town. As an extra bonus you see the industrial port on the other side of Göta älv.
However you took a very great shot of the Stena Terminal. The green mobile crane really spice up the shot.
Good PP to
Well done as usual Stef

Hi Stef I love the industriousness and rich sprinkling of building and harbour technology here. The depth of the compo is nicely profound and the strong lines in this pic take my eys on a adventuous journey with good details thru this pic. Keep this in y'r inventory :-)
Very well done, Bert.

Stef, I like this one. It really does convey the sense of being really busy. all the cranes! I like shots like this on a waterfront as well, where they have permanent cranes to load and unload the container ships. It's part of the world, that's what TE is to show, isn't it? Good note.
See you,
Matt

Hi Stef. Good construction shot from Gøteborg. The cranes makes sure some special effect both the ones for construction and the ones from the harbour in the back.

I thing it's a great experiment. With the first sight we can understand that is an industrial area with big activity. Very nice composition with good lighting and sharpness. Great work Stef!

Goed afgewerkte foto Stef.

Hi Stef,
This is well captured, I like that you caught both the construction site cranes and the harbor cranes in the same frame. The green crane stands out as a nice splash of color. I think this construction site was photographed by Ebbe last year.
Btw, the river is called Göta Älv.

Mooi Stef! Groetjes, Marina

Hi Stef. Actually, since the purpose of TE is to portray the entire Earth, it would be nice to see more photos such as this; that is, less than prosaic scenes. The take is successful. Although busy, there is good symmetry and balance with the cranes on all sides. The white vehicle also balances and provides a filler for the otherwise empty road. Well done.

Construction sites always offer interesting vistas. And this one is great with the cranes. The positions of those cranes are perfect to carry the eye from one to the other around the top of the image and also to then bring our eyes down to the construction below. You really got a good point of view for this. When I was at school there was a large construction project with several large cranes like this but I never got a good point of view for photos. But here you certainly got the point of view for this very neat working city image.
