Photographer’s Note

This is the fjord of Oslo with in the foreground a fountain, but the water was not turned on.

I don't know what kind of fountain this is. I have tried to find it on the internet and in my travel guide, but I couldn't find it. Does anybody know it?

The capital of Norway is situated by the long Oslofjord. The city was founded in 1050 and after big fire in 1624, the city was rebuilt by order of the King Christian IV of Denmark, and renamed Christiania after him.

Finally, when Norway became independent in 1905 (only a century ago), the city became the official capital of the country again and in 1925 it got the orginal name "Oslo" again.

The city has lots of statues and fountains, not only in the famous Vigeland's park, but everywhere in the city and also here by the Oslofjord.
