Photographer’s Note
This is the fjord of Oslo with in the foreground a fountain, but the water was not turned on.
I don't know what kind of fountain this is. I have tried to find it on the internet and in my travel guide, but I couldn't find it. Does anybody know it?
The capital of Norway is situated by the long Oslofjord. The city was founded in 1050 and after big fire in 1624, the city was rebuilt by order of the King Christian IV of Denmark, and renamed Christiania after him.
Finally, when Norway became independent in 1905 (only a century ago), the city became the official capital of the country again and in 1925 it got the orginal name "Oslo" again.
The city has lots of statues and fountains, not only in the famous Vigeland's park, but everywhere in the city and also here by the Oslofjord.

Hoi Stef!
Strong graphic effect in this picture, the monochrome color works good,-looks almost like a B/W shot.Good compo with tight framing,a crisp and clear image!

Hi Stef, This lighting condition made this silhouette style of the status shot beautiful. The outline of this photo is clear and well contrast with the background. A quiet and clean scene. You have captured the picture at a good timing with the soft lighting condition and nobody around in this marina. A very artistic looking picture.

Hi Stef,

Hi Stef. I like your composition and sharpness. Given the overcast lighting it would be interesting to see this as a b/w. I think it might help overcome the lighting somewhat. At any rate a great shot!

A clean, unique shot under difficult lighting conditions, Stef. The silhouette of the statue is quite remarkable. I also like how the statue is positioned in the frame to allow us to see the sailboats, particularly to the right. All in all, an excellent capture. Regards.

Hi Stef,
A very good capture of the different tonal values. The softness of the clouds brings out the statues and the boats perfectly. Interesting contrast, too. Nice shot!! Thanks.

Groeten,
John.
