Photographer’s Note
Taken at a shrine in Berlin. I do not remember the name of the shrine, or the sculptor who made the figure, but it was a woman. So far as I remember the shrine is a dedication to mothers who lost their children in wars. I would be grateful if a TE member could provide more information.
[Update: For more information please see the response by by khmelins. Here is a link to a bio of the sculptor, Kaethe Kollwitz: http://www.mystudios.com/women/klmno/kollwitz.html]

I like how you have isolated the kid like this; we can imagine the statue communicating with the kid, who stands to attention in front of it. The bars and the angle add to this impression for me. Well done.

this is a really good shot. i like the way you've shot through some bars or something, it makes the shot more voyeuristic and complicated. the light on the whole scene is great. it's a moving little moment. also nice is the texture on the ground.

Very voyeristic feel here with the foreground. I like the kid's body language here, (s)he seems enthralled by the statue. The lighting works too as the statue seems to be radiating some kind of wisdom to the kid. Cheers man!

Hi Animesh,
I agree with Randomcameraguy... a voyeuristic feeling, like we are hiding in the shadows.... Great composition and a very interesting combination of rectangular patterns (the wall, floor and pillars).

Hello Animesh,
Nice meeting between tis german girl and this Buddha. I like very much the way you use the light, it gives a surrealist impression.

Hi Animesh,
This is Neue Wache - Mahnmal
Here is some info on it:
"From its completion in 1818 until the demise of the monarchy in 1918, the Neue Wache, built by Schinkel for Friedrich Wilhelm III, actually was the Royal Guardhouse. It stood, from 1931, in remembrance of the fallen of WW1 until the Nazis reinvented it as a memorial to all heroes Nazi. The concept was, understandably, altered by the GDR who, in 1957, had it standing for all the dead of both wars but especially the second, dedicating the Neo-classical Roman style Guardhouse as a "Memorial to the Victims of Fascism and Militarism". Goose-stepping guards were put in place and an "eternal" flame was lit but sadly the wind picked up in 1989 and the building's contract and job description were, once again, put through the shredder. Just about due for its pension, the guardhouse now serves as a "Central Memorial of the Federal Republic of Germany" entombing the bodies of an unknown soldier, a resistance fighter and a concentration-camp victim and housing the Käthe Kollwitz sculpture, Mother and her Dead Son. Having always been a good barometer for the city's political and social environment, there must always be the fear that it will see out its days as an ice-cream stall."
From being there and having seen it I understand the difficulty of the light here and it's a pity one can't really see (at least in this web version) what the sculpture is about..

Hi Animesh,
I really love the kid's fascinated looks towards the sculptor here.. i can sense that, trying to understand... another very subtle moment from you.. i love the composition too..(i would love to see more details on the sculpter though, but i think probably it wasnt close enough or possible with a 28 mm. from where you stood..)

This photo gives me an impression of young apprentice listening to his old master... Thanks for sharing. I really like it.

Hi Animesh,
The sculpture is by Kathe Kollwitz, it is housed in the Neue Wache. It is Berlin's national war memorial containing the remains of an unknown soldier, unknown concentration camp victim and unknown resistance fighter.
Nice shot by the way.
