Photographer’s Note
Not your typical Thai photo of temples, beaches or remote villages. This was taken along the city streets of Hat Yai. Was surprised to see this cook roasting piglets for lunch; it was my first time to see piglets being roasted. I have seen adult/bigger ones being roasted, but not the younger ones.
This is a contribution to the "Food" genre, the category with the fewest no. of entries.

Oh - you right - never seen this before eighter. Seems to be done very carefully - very fine colour on the two "ready to eat" piglets. A fine capture and documentary - thanks Alford - good to see life "normal" in thailand.

Amazing photo which has great content AND motion. It almost doesn't look real. Terrific job Alford.

Terrific photograph and the note is good. The part of the signage at top right hand corner distracts attention to the subject could be cropped off.

A great catch of daily life Alford. It's a little sad to see them all lined up like that, but we have to eat, right? Good colors and a nice addition to the food category.

Hi Alford,
Sucking pig is a common delicacy consumed in most countries with a Chinese community. We see them in Singapore.
Good image depicting a daily life scene.

Nice documentary shot. I like the colors very much. I would crop it tighter in the top as the lettering in the top right is a distraction. So when did you go to Thailand?

I'm glad I don't eat pork. Poor little piglets. However, this is a great shot of daily life. Like Manny said "nice documentary shot" and I agree with him about cropping from the top to get rid of the sign and the leterrings.

Truely disgusting, but a very good daily life photograph, Alford. Well done.
This is such a normal scene for Asia, while for us Westerners it's something impossible to think of - a thing like this happening "on the street".
Hope he had a good dinner on his fried piggies.
ciao Sarah

Good shot of daily life. It makes me wonder if he hates doing this job -- the look on his face tells me he might not want to be there roasting piglets. I like the composition with the pigs on the right lined up waiting their turn.

Hi Alford. You probably won't read this note since I get the feeling you hardly visit TE, but in case you do, I must say that this is a striking shot. What makes it almost surreal are the "expressions" on those faces on the right. They almost seem to be awaiting something. Quite macabre in a way. Regards. Klaudio.
