Photographer’s Note
One of many dark streets in Venice where sun can touch only some parts of old walls.

I like the dark mood in this one,Carmela!
Excellent B&W work, strong graphism and contrasts, incredible sharpness, the low PoV gives a great perspective.
Excellent shot!

Wonderful texture and lines. The pavement pulls our eyes into the darkened scene. This is really all about textures and shapes. I love how you compose the shot Carmela, with the figures moving along the narrow path and the light in the distance above them. Perfect in black and white. Very fine work on every level.
The one suggestion I would make is to limit the height of your photos to 600-650 pixels so that it may be seen without scrolling. Then we have the opportunity to see the whole composition at once. It becomes easier to appreciate then.

Hi Carmela. This is a very good catch! I particulary like the way you caught the ambiance ere, excellent exposure management indeed! A superb B&W, and I particulary like the low POV and the proportion of the path in the frame as the inclusion of the two characters in the composition. Excellent work! Love it!

Speedy was sleeping and discovered just now this beautiful composition of yours !
Streets and pavements are some of your favourite and you succeed so well once again.
Venice is an excellent subject for them, it is an unusual vision of the narrow streets of the city where one can be lost so easily, like in a maze.
It is a completely different image compared to what we usually see of Venice.
And it is so true that the shining Venice can be so dark in some places, that you think you could meet Casanova in some mysterious corner ...
Congrats, dear Carmela !
I love it.

bonsoir Carmela, cette photo est magnifique, comme cadrage, luminosité et contraste. Tu jongles avec le noir et le blanc et il se dégage de tes photos beaucoup de chaleur.

good evening Carmela, this photograph is splendid, like framing, luminosity and contrast. You juggle with the black and the white and it are released from your photographs much of heat.

Strong low point of view. The lines of the pavement lead us into the scene where tired characters walk to God knows what.
The darkness of it builds a mystery feeling.

Hello Carma ,
Belle prise en noir et blanc . Les passants apportent un plus dans cette photo.

This is just wonderful. People (though they are not more than shadows) bring life to yor pic and the cobbled street naturally leads one's gaze to them.
Well done.

This is a nice moody photo. It seems to ask some questions. Who are these shady characters? Where have they come from and where into the darkness are they disappearing? Very nice
