Photographer’s Note
The escalator to the moon is a dutch song and you and I might ask, not if, but when?... Sure it beats walking, but i can't help it... I find escalators the ultimate form of human sloth... hee it's at least twenty steps and it saves maybe 5 whole seconds and time is salvation... But instead of some exersice (free of charge!) your inhaling the sweaty odour of that fat dude, farting the french fries away, in front of you on these idle squeaking metal prosperous monster... and why do i always remember that when i'm already on it???

"I want to hold the hand inside you
I want to take a breath that’s true
I look to you and I see nothing
I look to you to see the truth
You live your life
You go in shadows
You’ll come apart and you’ll go black
Some kind of night into your darkness
Colors your eyes with what’s not there.
Fade into you
Strange you never knew
Fade into you
I think it’s strange you never knew"

Good photo. I always wonder at people who pay money for gym memberships, but always take the lazy way out when it comes to things like this.
As far as the photo goes, its great. The person is unidentifiable meaning that we need to use our imagination on who it is. Subway(?) shots also contain a large amount of character which youve also captured here.

Voilà le type de composition urbaine que j'adore!
Magnifique couleurs et post-traitement!
J'adore le personnage flou !
Il y a tout de même un flou de bougé qui est non négligeable en grand format je suppose!
Beau travail!
J'adore l'ambiance!

For a minute I thought you had taken pictures of Metrostation Blaak in Rotterdam, and the you would have been there before me ;-) I have seen beautiful shadows in that metrostation, so I want to go back.
nice green blurry cast over this picture. Title is well chosen, it is as if he's glued behind thet tapestry, and not real anymore.
You have an amazing knowledege of songtexts, Jorrit!

Nice lines, interesting colour treatment... I really like this pic. It has a certain late-night-metro mood.
My only criticism is that I think I can see some patches of dark green/yellow on the post at the left (also at top right but that's not so distracting) as if they were added in post-processing, and now that I've noticed them i can't stop staring at them. Maybe they're natural. I need to know so that I can relax & enjoy the photo!

Splendid composition and colors. A dirty place. Subways: modern sewers for men-rats. You gave me an idea: I hope to show you early if I will work well. Amazing also the graphism with lines, curves and ... little squares.

Hi Jorrit!
how are you?
always experimenting I see (do you want to try something new? change nappies? prepare milk? sing songs? ;))
I like the way you compose this one, the scalator is in diagonal, the light is good, the speed is just right to have
a ghostly subject...
I imagine how you took this one, I see you wandering through the tunnels with your big Leica...and the people at the surroundings thinking you are a fre*k...or a perv*rt
:P
un abrazo mi amigo, it has been a long time since your last postings

Good perspective Jorrit. I like the game with all these lines.
The light is superb.
Well done.

Jorrit, please do not feel offended. for me your composition is like a poem written by a drunk poet : a kind of a weird lirism; one has to learn to recognize it and then fall in love with it.

There's something about your images that makes one want to keep coming back to them. I've just read Isabel's comment, and I think she puts it very well. The lines here make a really entrancing image, but I really can't see the point of not having any part of it sharp. I know that's not the point, but the lack of it, in this case, where it would have been so easy, to me, makes me think about that, rather the image I should be appreciating. So overall I find this a really nice image with a distraction.

An infamous philosopher wrote : "In this life you've gotta have money or style". My question is what about hairstyle?
I like your style Jorrit (hey, I didn't say hairstyle...) like Richard says it's addictive... but like in all addictions we want more everytime and can't help pushing up the doses;
As for this one yes, I like the colors, like a neg film processed in E6 slide developper...I like the gloomy subway feeling... though it would be very surprizing from another photographer, I need more from your part. the second effect that boosts the image and really surprises.
Someone coming in ghostly on the left side would have done the trick I believe.
