How could I resist a picture showing "ebb-tide" in Rozel bay? Apart from ther name thing I was there in -92 trying to get lunch in your hotel during "off-hours", had to bike back across half the island before finding an open and affordable pub to eat in...
Nice use of the foreground on the left, adds a lot of depth. I like the lead given by the dark band on the beach and the two stages of the braker wall, these lines makes a frame within the frame.

Proficiat!

Happy New Year, Hans. Very nice photo from your Channel Islands visit, where the composition with the foreground house at the left builds up a nice depth and perspective looking towards the pier and the boats. Charming colorful details all around, and optimum DOF. Good shot.
Not surprised to see that Ebbe liked to see Rozel Bay :-))

Hi Hans, Happy New Year!
You certainly chose a nice spot to have a hotel. I guess this is also the spot where you got your 'ropes' picture, looking at the quay.
Very nice light and a clever framing with the lovely house on the left.

Very nice and sure i like it.
This is a place I have already been several times and may be one of the most beautiful in this Island
At full season whith more boats it is a beauty to see all the ropes going to the shore.
This is a very beautiful composition, clear and deep.
Nice to see it.
Compliments

A good POV which balances the sea/beach/port and hotel combination :)

Hi Hans :)
The colors here are beautiful. I love the combination of vivid and pastel colors rendered by the houses in background. The sharpness is excellent, well-highlighting the house's textures in the foreground (roof and wall). With the pier's enclosure on the boats and the beach, the composition work is good.
I wish you an happy New Year, Hans.

Hi Hans and Happy New Year!
I discover your photographs only today ; - (
TE is so vast and my so occupied time which I don't have leisure all to see, in particular your splendid pics.
Framing and composition are excellent. The colour of the stones of the house is superb.
Well done !

I do like it! The small harbors on Jersey's north coast are so beautiful and quiet. It almost seems like time stood still. I like your composition, maybe the end of the pier is close to the picture's edge, but it gives a feeling of protection. Good idea to wait for ebb-tide, this way the curve of the sea is repeated on the sand in different patterns. I like the colorfull houses and the red storage cabins on the pier. The picture has a very good depth, heightened by the presence of the house on the left.
Lucky you to have an hotel with such a view!

Hi Hans, nogmaals gelukkig nieuw jaar. Heel erg goed werk!

A well-known sight in that part of the world. But very well depicted. The house leaning into the frame on the right is strong element, and so are the different coloured houses in the background - and the fact that the unbroken horizon is visible over the houses. A good catch from a good pov.

Hi Hans, another nice image in your channel islands series, the place is nice and you framed it well, but here the detail I prefer is the colofull diagonal of small houses in the background, starting from the yellow one.

A lot to look at here, from the interesting stonework on the house in the foreground, to the adorable brightly colored houses, to the bright red sheds, then wrap around to the boats. Nice trip for my eyes! (Wish I was there on a trip, instead!) -Jenn

Well, this seems to be a great place for photos! The boats, the protective wall, everything can give great motives. Good use of the house in the foreground as it creates a feeling of being there. Good exposure, colors and details.

Bright and vivid! Boats just waiting to be floating again, banjo wharf and amazing DOF. I would say this looks like a "Kodak moment", only it is much better! Great composition, excellent shot!
