Photographer’s Note

... and a Happy New Year. And don't get stuck in the traffic in 2005. This is unfortunately how a lot of people pass a lot of their time as daily commuters and winter holiday makers in search of sunny skislopes. This was taken on the motorway between Brussels and Luxembourg where a sudden snowfall and skidding lorries brought the traffic to a halt for three hours the other day. Also part of our world - and therefore TrekEarth.
I wish everybody out there a healthy and happy and safe 2005 - tonight celebrations will be slightly dampened by the thought of the millions suffering in South East Asia and elsewhere. So let 2005 be the year where we try to make things better for everyone.

I like this picture. Daily life can be like that sometimes. Of course, most people hate snow when there there is a traffic jam on the motorway, but it also can be very beautiful.

I like the contrast between the grey and white scala and the red lights of the cars.
