Photographer’s Note
This shot depicts one of the gates of the Imperial palace in Tokyo.
Typical Japanese traditional architecture marks the beautiful palace grounds. The old stone walls and the surrounding water bodies guarding the palace add to the aesthetic beauty of the place.
Nature plays its role too. Japanese pine, of typical cascading shapes, with lush green foliage symbolizes the palace grounds.
A part of the premises is open to the public, as a garden area, beautifully decorated and designed. This a common place for city dwellers and visitors for a walk during morning or evening.
Tech notes:
This shot was taken in the late afternoon, and the sky was cloudy. In an attempt to adjust levels, the sky and the house on the right may feel a bit overexposed.

Whe I looked at the thumbnail, I thought this was a B&W shot. Certainly, the overcast conditions have drained the colour from the scene and left it all very muted. It may be worth simply converting to B&W.
It's nicely framed with the tree adding important detail to an otherwise featureless sky, though I'd clone out the bottom left corner.
I can see what you mean about the sllightly over-exposed houde on the right - not much you can do with that I guess.
But it is a nice shot of a beautful building.

I totally agre with WhereAmI. I think you might have been better off taking converting this to B&W. Might have been much better.
