Photographer’s Note
The Menara garden and pavilion are a favorite sunset destination for both locals and tourists. Situated in the outskirts of Marrakech, they provide a quiet and serene escape from the burstling city life.
While the locals mainly come here for a family walk after work, tourists prefer to enjoy the view on the Atlas mountain range, and the contrast between the snow capped peaks and the desert vegetation of the garden. Should you run out of film, numerous vendors are around to help you not miss the moment, what are they going to do with their rolls now in digital times ?
The view you see on that photo is also heavily used in Morocco promotion material.

Ca me dit quelque chose, j'y ai vu de grandes fêtes dans les années 70.
Bien fait, cadrage "convenient" et profondeur qui met Marrakech en présence de l'Atlas.
Réussi
Compliments

Salut Jean Yves
This image has an almost surrealistic atmosphere, with the background fog / cloud. Excellent graphism & well composed, with the exotic surroundings adding interest. Tres bon!

Hi Jean,
Good photo and very nice place. The mountains in foreground of the picture look like a mirage in desert. Also very good comment.

Water, pavilion and gardens, clouds and finally snow capped tops of the mountains. Very good capture of four layers with good DoF and PoV. Good management of the light as well. Well done Jean Yves. Thanks for sharing...

Very good postcard view, Jean Yves. The pavilion makes a nice compositional interest surrounded by all kinds of different trees, but what is really special about this one is the background with the layer of haze separating the view towards the mountain range in the back. I think off-centering the pavilion by cropping quite a bit from the left and also a little from the top could work well on this one. Beautiful shot.

Hi Jean Yves, very nice picture, I like the centered composition. The colours are a bit pale, but nevertheless the scenery is beautiful, the background with the Atlas mountain is awesome. Well captured!

Hi Jean, this is a nice pavillion, I like the person standing in the doorway, but I especially like that row of snow capped mountains that seems to float in the air, beautiful!
BTW, my Russian is not going further than a few polite words, but what is: ' Nu govori, skolko ' and: 'Poyekhali ! Na Vostok!' I think 'Poyekhali' sounds Greek to me.

Beautiful composition, enhanced by the Atlas in the background. When I visited it, there were some works carried out in the front and we didn't get to have this point of view. Nicely done, Yvonne
