Ribeira, district of Porto. View on the Dom Luis I Bridge. Porto Patrimonio Mundial - Porto World Heritage. On the other side: Mosteiro da Serra do Pilar (Vila Nova de Gaia district).One of the landmarks of Porto, this iron Dom Luis Bridge was designed by Teófilo Seyrig, a pupil of Gustave Eiffel. Construction commenced in 1881 and the bridge was opened in 1886. It spans 172 metres across the River Douro, from north to south, in a single arch and has two traffic levels. The upper road, which is open to pedestrians, provides magnificent views of the city and the river. Adjacent to the bridge are pillars, which are all that remains of the Ponte Pensil suspension bridge which was in use between 1843 and 1887.

Hello Mikolaj,

Framing and especially POV very well selectd for show this famous and beautiful bridger. Contrast and colors well colected and great prospect to the edifice in the BG. Desicive moment well collected with the coloured bus well locatde on the bridge. Good job.

Swietny fotos. Most odjazdowy na maksa. Fajowski napis: Porto Patrimonio Mundial. Panoramka na pokaz. Podoba mi sie, ze jest mur z prawej, a z lewej nie ma. Gdyby byl,jak w oryginale, banal by byl. A moze i nie.

You did well to catch the train on the bridge as it provides excellent scale and shows the huge size of the bridge. The scan quality is good from a 10 year old negative.

dear Mikolaj Kawa,
this arch of bridge is graceful, like a steel rainbow of monotone,
trains on it and green letters looks unreal,
but houses on the hill and fore stone walls make interesting perspective with the bridge.
green of letters and red of the roofs are lovely color contrast in it.

Ladnie podszedles po ten most, szkoda tylko, ze nie widac dolnego poziomu. Fajny napis u gory. Ten klasztor na gorze, po drugiej stronie tez moze sie podobac. Swietna robotka.
