Photographer’s Note

Arco da Cadeia in the mediaeval city of Obidos. The town of Obidos is located on a hill and is still encircled by a fortified wall. The well-preserved mediaeval look of its streets, squares, walls and its massive castle have turned the picturesque village into a preferred tourist attraction in Portugal.

This picture was scanned from Kodak negative (2002).

A very good combination picture of this fine architecture and the view through the opening. The upper part, with the beautiful window, could nearly be enough as one upload ;) Very fine observation!

Autre agréable image d'un passage voûté dans Obidos. Bonne mise en valeur de ce qui apparait au travers par une bonne luminosité. C'est beau, mais qu'est-ce qu'on marche mal sur ces pavés ! ;o)

Zdjecie dobre, ale bardzo dobre by bylo, gdyby, jak chce Jan, ktos tedy przechodzil, np. grupa gornikow z kopalni Wirek w strojach galowych.

Super niesymetryczna architekturka. Fajne arkady, fajowskie okna, ciekawe zolcenia w glebi. Mnie sie podoba, mimo tego, ze nie ma tu zywego luda. Ten pusty kadr ma swoj urok i smak.

Niezle sredniowieczne miasto to musi byc i pomyslec, ze w takiej sceneri ludzie sobie mieszkaja, ze rodza sie tutaj i umieraja. Fajne ujcie. Podoba mi sie to, co sie jarzy w glebi, dobre swiatlo tam bije.

Nicely composed shot, and good exposure to give us the detail in both the shadowy part and the sunlit part.. Great idea to frame the sunlit section in the archway. The cobbled lane makes a great foreground and lead-in for the eye. Good scanning job, nicely finished. Well done.

Fotka jest perfekcyjna, zarzut, ze jest bezludno jest komiczny, albo rybki, albo akwarium, jak fotografujesz kwiatki, nie miej do siebie pretensji, ze nie ma tam motylkow. Jak chcesz fotografowac ludzi, to fotografuj ludzi, nie fotografuj wtedy starych zapomnianych wiatrakow, bo pod zapomnianymi starymi fotografami ludzi nie ma, no nie ma.

a wonderful arch, this asymmetrical figure is interesting.
and its edge stones and white wall with lovely twin windows are elegant,
moreover the green moss on side wall is very tasteful, it is my favorite.

Well seen!
The cobbly textured steps make a fine lead towards, and under, the low arch. The change from shadow into bright, colourful sunshine makes a fine contrast.

Superancka fotka, takie stare miasta maja swoj klimat, nastroj, niepowtarzalne zaulki. Jest na TE troche, nawet bardzo duzo, zdjec z Obidos, ale Twoja fotka wyroznia sie na ich tle. Jest wysmakowana jak diabli.
