Photographer’s Note
Have you? If you didn't, you had to... even though you were not, I guess it has... or was it?
Enigmatic sign above the entrance door of a foot massage parlor in downtown Kuching, Borneo.
I had a nasrty 40° fever that day and was looking for a pharmacist when I came across that sign... thought at first hand the funny part was coming from too high fever but I realize I still have no clue...have you, I mean whatever your age? ...hence the fun.
--------------------------------
Playing with older stuff in my darkroom this week end, this is a lith print (not a sepia print and neither a scan from a negative).
I would really like to know what the chinese ideograms means. If ever a mandarin speaking member could shed a light on the meaning...

simple, but nice picture. nice mostly because of this grain and special B&W. and the sing itself is an interesting feature. i love colors, but sometimes i wish i was able to get such nice tones in my photos...

funny shot, but also perfect technically. I love it's tonality, grain, contrast.. unfortunatelly probably not achievable with digital (at least yet..) maybe it's time to try B&W?

I'm really taking a liking to your lith shots. Somehow, even on TE you can tell it's lith. Haven't tried it in my darkroom yet, but it appeals to me. Sorry, can't help you on what the sign means, but it is quite humorous.

足,its pronunciation is 'zu',means ...oh,how could u not guess it,Luko? actually u have said it out: foot!!
and the ideograms were the points about your other parts of your body...i don't know how to explain it in English, but if u choose to believe the physic,u could find lots foot massage information on net
cheer for ur old-aged photo and ur humour,

Vincent: Have you ever given a foot massage?
Jules: Don't be tellin' me about foot massages - I'm the foot f#ckin' master.
Vincent: Given a lot of 'em?
Jules: Sh#t yeah. I got my technique down and everything, I don't be tickling or nothin'.
Vincent: Would you give a guy a foot massage?
Jules: F#ck you.
Vincent: You give them a lot?
Jules: F#ck you.
Vincent: You know, I'm getting kinda tired, I could use a foot massage.
Jules: Man, you best back off, I'm gittin' pissed.
;-DDDD from pulp fiction...
I'll hurry with my darkroom Luko... this looks amazing once again... i bet you print these very large huh? great exposition stuff man...

I like the print and the effect/grain more than the subject, which lacks a person(?) to draw the eye. The very central composition makes it feel like a bit of a tourist snap, although admittedly it is unusual....
yes, it means 'foot' or 'feet' as the Chinese have no plurals.

this is a fantastic print.. and in my opinion, much better than the lith of the petronas..
yup lacks a human touch like bryan already mentioned.. but the lith here has bowled me over a too many times to complain about the "no human presence"
have you dodged the signboards. it standing out really beautifully here
take care

hello toujours :)
