Photographer’s Note
This was a quick picture...I had to seize the moment...and indeed a few seconds later, this man in the bicycle took off.
I could have titled this photo "Ancient No More". This was taken at the entrance of the Old City of Lijiang, Yunnan Province, a UNESCO heritage site. The old city is ancient no more. Colored lights, bars, colorful shops, etc...adorned the streets. Tourism changed the pace of life. Oh, well, if I had to capture the feel of the old city, I guess I had to wake up early the next day...when only the bars are closed, when only the natives roam the streets, when the early sun rays illuminate the village. Did I? Watch out for my suceeding posts.

Nice image Manuel..You manage quite well . Always nice those shadows. "Ombre chinoise".. I don't know the name in English... The way the biker is in the center of the image is very nice too.
No time to upload today...
I know that place. In fct in the nice building behing the ffountain there is a very good Italian restaurant, with great bread.. I wish I could go back there with a digital as I told you.

Manuel
It is an unusual photograph of your share :o)
I like the shadowgraph ("ombre chinoise" of Claude) of the cyclist. backround one discovers a pallet of colors which supplements the orange color of the fountain. they are 3 elements major of this photograph: the man - the fountain - colors
I like it

A very special shot, Manuel. The silhoutee gives this shot a strange touch. The pond looks like a hot stram of lava. I like the dark human silhouettes at the back, and this green light. A very good composition and an impressive work.

Very nice one, Manny. The silhouette of the man on the bike is well seen against the orange and yellow illuminations on the fountain's water jets. The light on the buildings behind makes an interesting, yet non-intrusive background. Good shot.

A great shadowy picture. The combination of green and orange is great. I wonder how this shot would look like from a lower angle (or after cropping the bottom a bit)

Well caught. When I first looked at this I hadn't realised the guy was stationary, and I couldn't think how you'd got it so sharp. Anyway, a really great use of silhouette for this compo.

Seize the moment, wise words of wisdom, and they certainly paid off for you, great silhouette against the fountain, you say it was a quick shot, however I expect you had to use quite a long exposure to get the lights to turn out as they did is this correct?
Again well done, I will have to check out your other shots!
