This is Prospect Park in Brooklyn New York.

Prospect Park is a 585-acre urban oasis located in the heart of Brooklyn, New York City’s most populous borough. The masterpiece of famed landscape architects Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux, who also designed Central Park, Prospect Park features the 90-acre Long Meadow, the 60-acre Lake and Brooklyn’s only forest. The nation’s first urban Audubon Center, the Prospect Park Zoo, and the Celebrate Brooklyn! Performing Arts Festival are just a few of the cultural attractions that make their home here at the Park.

With over eight million visitors a year, the Park borders diverse neighborhoods and attracts both locals and tourists. Popular activities range from skating to birding to pedal boating to picnicking on the Long Meadow on beautiful days. The Park also boasts a stunning variety of natural and geological features. Brooklyn’s only forest is here, along with a complex water system, rolling meadows and shaded hillsides.

Hi Angela,
Amazing to see such a tranquil setting in the middle of one of the biggest cities in the world.
A nicely balanced composition, the building on the edge of the lake works well in conjunction with the large trees and the water foreground. For me, the shot lacks a little saturation, could be due to the cloudy day though.

Angela, nice one, and after browsing your TN and TL galleries I bet this is just the set up stuff for them. wondered where you were hiding out and now I know. The bird shots are really great over on TN. This shot has nice detail and composition but I think is a but undersaturated but other than that a fine capture.

It always great and important to go in a urban oasis to cut out the stressful life of today. The lush green, the pond and the wooden structure are fantastic. The atmosphere seems so pleasant. Thanks for sharing. Very informative note too. Well done!

Sounds like home to me, my street address is Prospect. No park though, I like it, it very tranqil and peaceful. Lovely nature shot. A good place to take a walk for a picnic. Beautiful composition. Thanks
