Photographer’s Note

Hello dears,
It's impossible to forget about Venice, so today another shot from this lovely place and a few words about famous Grand Canal.

The Grand Canal banks are lined with more than 170 beautiful buildings, most of which date to 13th/18th century and demonstrate the welfare and art created by the Republic of Venice. The noble venetian families faced huge expenses to show off their richness in suitable palazzos: this contest reveals the citizens’ pride and the deep bond with the lagoon. Amongst the many are the Palazzi Barbaro, Ca' Rezzonico, Ca' d'Oro, Palazzo Dario, Ca' Foscari, Palazzo Barbarigo and to Palazzo Venier dei Leoni, housing the Peggy Guggenheim Collection. The churches along the canal include the basilica of Santa Maria della Salute. Centuries-old tradition such as the Historical Regatta are perpetuated every year along the Canal.

Because most of the city's traffic goes along the Canal rather than across it, only one bridge crossed the canal until the 19th century, the Rialto Bridge. There are currently two more bridges, the Ponte degli Scalzi and the Ponte dell'Accademia. A fourth bridge designed by Santiago Calatrava connects the train station to the vehicle-open area of Piazzale Roma. As was usual in the past, people can still take a ferry ride across the canal at several points by standing up on the deck of a simple gondola called traghetto.

surely a lovable view. Your image has nice colors and a quite "strange" effect, I don't know if it's due to the PP. Good POV.

Strange effect, but I would like to confess...I love it!
At first I thought my eye sight had a decline but I realized it's an artistic effect!
Lighting is glorious and composition is impeccable!
Great experiment!

Hej, Pewnie że kolorów Wenecji nie można zapomnieć. Lubie takie kolory - żółty, pomarańczowy, ochra. Wiele miast włoskich jest właśnie takich. przyjemna kompozycja z wszystkimi miłymi dla oka elementami (również idącymi:) - w oddali chyba kościół Frari?

Hmmm...wiele ujęć Wenecji już znamy...ale ciągle widzę i odkrywam jakby coś innego, kolory, łuki, budowle, kształty...

Piekna kolorowa Wenecja zostala w pamieci.
Ladny kadr i perspektywa.
Ale co to za kombinacja, tak patrze imam wrazenie jak bym byl po "malutkim" ;)

stupendous image of Venice, seems a painting even if it has a strange effect of OOF. Probably this effect is wanted. However the image is beautiful and pleasant. BRAVI!

Musze przyznac, ze moj autofokus chwilke walczyl z ostroscia, gdy ujrzalem to zdjecie. Ciekawy efekt a ustawienie ostrosci nawet na nieskonczonosc nie pomoglo;) Kadr jest naprawde bezbledny. Ciekawa fota- napewno rozni sie od innych.
