Photographer’s Note

Wertheim is located at the confluence of the Main and Tauber rivers in the state of Baden-Wuttemberg.
Wertheim was founded between the 7th and 8th century, however the first settlement was a town called Kreutzwertheim on the right of the river Main. From the early 12th century onwards, a branch of the noble family of the Reginbodons called themselves after the town. After the family of the earls of Wertheim had built a castle on the left bank of the river Main, a settlement developed at the foot of this dominating structure that was called Wertheim. It was mentioned for the first time in 779. In 1192, it was referred to as "Suburbium castri Wertheim" and in 1200 the town is called “oppidium” and 1244 “civitas”.
The town Wertheim developed into the center of the county of Wertheim. The county existed until 1806 when it was divided as a consequence of the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss ("Principal Conclusion of the Extraordinary Imperial Delegation"). The area left of the Main river was given to the Grand Duchy of Baden, while the territories right of the Main, were given to the Kingdom of Bavaria. (wiki)

A good view over this riverside town. The river curving away into the distance makes for a fine deep perspective. Very good natural looking colours and excellent clarity throughout.

That's a lovely, pleasant and beautiful picture!
The high pov was excellent to give us this wide view of the place! The composition was very well done! The photograph has also a very good level of sharpness, a correct exposure - the sky may be a bit overexposed - but nothing that bothers me too much, natural and beautiful colors! The vegetation, the buildings, the river and even the highway are so harmoniously together! I really like it!

A fine panoramic view of this river and the beautiful surrounding. The red roofed houses contrast wonderfully with the deep green vegetation and the curve of the river makes it deep and dynamic. A fine summer atmosphere with a strong light which you managed well. Very informative note too.

Very nice to see a picture from this very idyllic town, that I have visited many times. The company where I used to work, have a big supplier here, Johns-Manville, of glass fleece for the production of floorcoverings. A very nice hotel in the town center...

Hi Asa,

The reflections in the water and the curve of the river are assets to the composition. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the house. It is also taking our eyes toward the mountains in the background which is giving depth to the photo. The quality of the light is enhancing the colors and is giving them a good contrast. I even noticed the shadows of clouds on the hills in the distance, on this sunny day :) The POV was chosen perfectly, showing the curve of the river and the houses standing on its both banks.

It's a very nice picture with wonderfull colors and composition. However you should decrease light in the sky and maybe decrease light in blue color.
