Photographer’s Note

Sometime ago I uploaded this photo taken in Summer Palace.

Now I tried a similar shot, with other elements, taken in Houhai. The difficulty of this shot was the fact of being dark, so it was not easy to make a sharp shot of the caligrapher, but on the other hand made it possible to add his shadow.

Most amazingly, he was doing caligraphy with a wet piece of cloth!

Ni hao,

A very difficult shot, very dark, almost devoid of colours - but I think it works, although I'm not 100% convinced of the crop in the top left corner.
I'm a huge admirer (and an absolutely hopeless amateur) of Chinese caligraphy, so thanks for uploading this one.
