Photographer’s Note
That's very tragic place. It's name 'Hatyn'. Many villages was burn in years of Great War 1941-1945. Every bell symbolized the burn home, every slab - the footpath to home...

"To those for whom the bell tower tolls". ... Katyn, this is the place where many thousands of Polish officers were slaughtered by the Russians before WW2 began. This area was part of Poland before WW2... called Eastern Regions, Kresy Wschodnie. Excellent subject and good capture of the feeling.

Is it really a difference, who was Nazis, Germans, or Ukrainians, or, for example, Latvian SS Division? This is a place of a crime, and not usual one: place where the armed people slaughtered hundreds of unarmed: children and aged people.

Hi Marina, Thanks, that this picture you remind the world of monstrocity of nazism. Regards, Alex
