Photographer’s Note

Stockholm is a city built by the water, so that it has been called the Venice of the North, and this picture shows this peculiarity. In the background you can see the unmistakable shape of the Town hall (Stadhuset) with its very high tower, one of the most famous landmark of the city, and, before that, the bridge of Vasabron which links the islet of Gamla Stan (at the left of the photo- not visible) with the quarter of Norrmalm.

Stoccolma è una città costruita sull’acqua, tanto da essere stata chiamata la Venezia del nord, e la foto mostra questa sua particolarità. Nello sfondo si può vedere la sagoma inconfondibile del municipio (Stadhuset) con la sua altissima torre, uno dei punti di riferimento più noti della città, e prima di questo il ponte Vasabron che unisce l’isolotto di Gamla Stan (alla sinistra, non visibile) col quartiere di Norrmalm.
