Photographer’s Note
Gili Air (water island in bahasa) is a small island of the Gilis group off Lombok, which have become since some years the next stop of western partiers fed up with Koh Phangan or Kuta.
Fortunately Gili Air is a bit away from its neighbouring party island Gili Trawangan. It was still a quiet island where you could rest on a beach while eating small and juicy pineapples mama Nenas would cut for you, lie on the sand watch the sunset on the western side while fishermen are coming back, lie on a cushion at night and watch the stars while eating your satays, get up early in the morning and watch on the eastern side the sun rise on Lombok before the morning dive.
I thought I was the only one woken up at that time before 6Am, but that sasak kid was already on the premises. I don't know whether he was sleeping in the prao and i had awaken him.

Very nice Luko, especially given that you have an unshaded sun in the picture. Did you use ND filters?
I like the expression of the boy too..

how did u capture the boy in this position..did u ask him for premission? or did u just shout don't move!!!
the tones are amazing..I didn't decide yet if it's too dark for me. the darkness + sharpness add to this magical moment..but somthing definitely looks unnatural.
8.5/10 on u'r buoyancy level :)

I love the soft light on the sky and the water.
It's the "wanderfull" light effect of an old Leica reflex? :) that give this kind of light ?
By the way, Great shot !!!

i really like the tone of your shot! The sun has a nice bright reflection on the ocean in contrast with the dark blue sky above :D

A really nice shot.
I think it needs some delicate Photoshop work to bring out his face just a bit. If you look closely, he is involved in your picture. Try to bring him in to more prominence.
(Really minor, but clone out the little black dot over the boat. Something on the top of the antenna?)

Really nice. The exposure was obviously diffcilt, but you've handled it well. The boy's eyes tie it all together. On va visiter l'Asie encore?

C'est une superbe photo Luko et j'aime particulièrement le regard de l'enfant. La luminosité est aussi excellente. Bravo..

this one is almost very good, the light is beautiful, colors are nice, the scene is simple but warm and intimate. but there is one quite big flaw - that boat exactly behind the boy, i'd really prefer to see some space between the boy and the boat. and i think you dodged his face - colors are a bit unnatural there.
almost very good

Luko: supremely filmy image. Love the muted shades here in your impromptu model's cooperation. cheers, c
