Laguna Miscanti Photo

Photographer’s Note

Laguna Miscanti is a brackish water lake located in the altiplano of the Antofagasta Region, in northern Chile. Miñiques volcano and Cerro Miscanti tower over this lake. This heart-shaped lake has a deep blue color. The western shoreline of the lake is separated by less than 1 km from the drainage divide between the lake and the Salar de Atacama basins. Laguna Miscanti basin also has a common boundary with Salar de Talar basin.
A lava flow from an eruption of Miñiques separated Laguna Miscanti from Laguna Miñiques.
The lake is part of one of the seven sectors of Los Flamencos National Reserve.

hi Mateo,
in little more than one month I hope to be right there :)
I like the photo a lot, especially how the grass and textures of the soil in the foreground curve towards the volcano in the distance, it nicely leads the eye through the shot. the deep blue water creates a striking contrast with the arid land, this is very well seen and presented.

Matteo,
I was already on page five and still did not pick any picture and finally something eye catching.
It is great how well you managed this photo,especially the front side and also keeping that mountain in the corner.
Great colors,very good clarity.
