Photographer’s Note

I saw these colourful hills in Zanjan- Tabriz autobahn located in north west of Iran. Various minerals such as Fe and Cu are the source of the different hues of the soil in this site.

They may be less famous than the Painted Hills in USA, but they look equally amazing and picturesque. It's a very beautiful view, well composed and with a great clarity, even in the distance.

A beautiful colorful landscape captured very nicely Dear Atousa! I like a lot the hills covered with different tones of colors. It's a pity that there are no reforestation efforts here as well as many parts of many countries in middle east.

In this landscape there is a harmonious combination of colors, all very well balanced within the frame.

The strong lighting, allows us to cherish every detail with great naturalness. Without doubt that was a pretty picture.

Striking color .. I love the brightness and sharpness as well .. the hills feel barren and desolate but there is something so warm and attractive about the color .. they are strikingly similar to the Painted Hills of Oregon .. I think immediately of Peter Boehringer's gallery .. pboehringer

I knew the painted hills from Oregon in the US but not the ones from Iran ;) The color tones of the hills are pleasant to look and stand out well against the sky! The inclusion of the trees and grass in FG added depth to the image!

I thought the only painted hills exist in Oregon in USA, but I was grossly wrong! This is really beautiful & no less spectacular (only less marketed! :-)). Like how you composed with layers of the Fg with the tall grass leading upto the painted hills with a clear blue sky as a cap. I would look fwd. for a closer shot of this wonderful place from you as well!
