Photographer’s Note

The Torre Agbar, or Agbar Tower, is a 21st-century skyscraper in Barcelona. It was designed by French architect Jean Nouvel in association with the Spanish firm b720 Arquitectos. According to Jean Nouvel, the shape of the Torre Agbar was inspired by Montserrat, a mountain near Barcelona, and by the shape of a geyser rising into the air.
Its design combines a number of different architectural concepts, resulting in a striking structure built with reinforced concrete, covered with a facade of glass, and over 4,500 window openings cut out of the structural concrete. The building stands out in Barcelona; it is the third tallest building in Barcelona.

La torre Agbar es un rascacielos de Barcelona. Situado en la avenida Diagonal junto a la plaza de las Glorias, que marca la puerta de entrada al nuevo distrito tecnológico de Barcelona, el 22@. La torre fue diseñada por el estudio del francés Jean Nouvel en colaboración con la firma de arquitectos barcelonesa b720 Arquitectos. Nouvel buscó que su obra emergiese del suelo de una forma especial, y pensó en los pináculos de la montaña sagrada de Cataluña, Montserrat y en la forma que adopta un geiser. Su diseño combina distintos conceptos arquitectónicos, dando lugar a a una sorprendente estructura construída con hormigón reforzado recubierto de placas de aluminio que dan color al conjunto y exteriormente con una “piel” de ventanas de cristal. Las lamas de vidrio presentan diferentes inclinaciones, y opacidades provocando un juego de luz, según el momento del día y la estación del año, con las chapas de aluminio lacadas que recubren el hormigón. Es el tercer edifício mas alto de la ciudad de Barcelona.

Hello Felip! Very nice how you made this photo work with the red building on one side and that you have a lot of "blue hour" night sky on the side with the moon that gives this picture something "human" if I may say so. It is not "only" architecture (I mean I am a big fan) but it also makes a connection to our planet, something like that, hard to describe. I really like it, very inspiring for me. Molt ben pensada la foto. Has fet una molt bona i intel.ligent composició gràcies a oblidar la totalitat de l'edifici, però no has abandonat les seves formes.
A més, has fet servir elements aliens a la torre, de forma que has jugat molt bé amb el grafisme a aquesta foto.

la foto és molt interessant, per no ser la típica foto de tota la torre. Encara que l'edifici no és que m'encanti... i això que el veig des d'on visc, t'ha sortit una molt bona foto!

Very good idea to show just a part of the Torre Agbar and not the complete building. I like the composition with the moon in the other corner of the picture and also the beautiful colour contrast.
When has the Torre Agbar been built ? I didn't see it in 1997 but I did 10 years later.

Your diagonal crop worked very nice especially showing us splendid textures and red colored illumination on The Torre Agbar's cylindrical facade. Sharp contrasts between blue and red and your good shooting time for adding moon to your photo is very nice. Congratulations.

Bonjour Felip.
La composition est simple mais efficace. J'aime les couleurs du ciel et de l'édifice. La lune est un plus pour la photo. Dommage qu'il y ait du bruit.

Casi dejas la luna por fuera del encuadre, quizás le hubieras podido dejar un poquito mas de espacio, pero no importa...

El contraste de tonos es muy significativo y el punto de vista es extraordinario. Una composición original, excelente.

Quite a superb work...the contrast between red & blue is excellent. I wished you removed the noise in the sky. But an excellent crop & framing with the moon right at the corner. Good work my friend!

Es una bella compo, algo abstracta y con mucho para apreciar, a pesar de su minimalismo. Me gustan mucho el contraste entre el padrón y colores de la torre y el cielo, el balanceo entre la luna y la candela, la inclinación, y los juegos de luz, colores y formas en la torre.
Una toma muy inspirada!

Wonderful shot. I do not know if the strong red colours are the natural colours or the nocturnal illumination. Anyway it looks fantastic against the blue sky. Your placing of the moon in the corner is perfect. TFS and have a nice evening!

Olá Felip. Great composition, very well prepared with the moon on the top right side. Nice details and very good colors on the tower. I see a bit of noise but I admit that my home monitor sometimes lie to me. Well done. Paulo

i like the contrast: the lively red against the blue with the moon peeking through the corner. not so sure about the pp though: seems a bit, um, smudged. :)
