Photographer’s Note
Blue Sky for Barbara, no guarantee though, not responsible for rain when you get there, but your heart is a big open sky.
Red Rock for Fulvio, this much I can guarantee, it will for sure be there.
Monument Valley is located on the southern border of Utah with northern Arizona (around 36°59′N, 110°6′W). The valley lies within the range of the Navajo Nation Reservation, and is accessible from U.S. Highway 163. The Navajo name for the valley is Tsé Bii' Ndzisgaii (Valley of the Rocks).
Morning hour are best for photo here, since the air is still clear from the haze and the temperature is still cool. The other best time is just before sunset till dawn.

Everyone seems to make a big deal about their 100 post, which give me a lot of pressure what to do next, since this is my 99th.

An extremely known place, of course, but you managed to avoid the cliches. Your vantage point between the buttes looking deep ... excellent DOF and color palette. A postcard, but not trivial at all.

Hello Way,
Happy to find your nice pictures back :o)
Wonderful quality for this great landscape.
The sharpness of the image is impressive and the morning light enhances well the wonderful colors of the rocks under this deep blue sky.
Great work, you will have to outperform for the 100th... just putting some extra pressure ;-)
Have a great day.

Hi Way
Good colors in this one, and a very interesting scenery, specially because I am just preparing pictures from this weekends trip to the northern part of Saudi Arabia, where the sand stone formations, vegetation's and blue skies are very similar to this.
Very good color management here, I am having a little trouble with some of mine, they seem to come out a bit too red, even on the vegetation so I still have some tweaking to do to reach a standard close to yours:)

Hello Way,
nice note accompanying an interesting capture of these fascinating rocks. You are right, the early morning gives excellent conditions but the long black shadows are quite dangerous! The colours are really amazing! TFS and I am looking forward to your 100th post!

Way,
This is a well composed landscape shot. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and DOF. The low angle lighting provides nice warm colors and great deep shadows here. The deep blue sky provides a nice backdrop for the shot as well as great contrast for the red rock formations.

Oh dear, is this my name standing there? I was just writing my famous annual xmas letter last night that I will send out to family and friends some time in December and I wrote that we had rain at Goblin's but that it had a surprising quality that I never expected ... the rest is history and I guess we both laughed about it and now I find another milestone, how nice to think of me!!! Oh yes, the Utah blue in the sky and these wonderful landmarks that keep forever special and fascinating and depending on the weather and time of the day they can change its color a little from pale red to almost burning. Great photo and do not worry too much about no. 100, you know what you can and you have a lot of fans like me and I guess it goes beyond if a picutre is nice but what you write and what you felt. Thanks again + enjoy your Sunday, Barbara.

well, if Barbara gets the blue sky and Fulvio gets the red rocks, can I PLEASE have the desert sand? I was just telling Kristaps (who is packing for Guatemala, by the way, lucky him, life is not fair) that I would not mind disappearing in some desert for a week or so. but back to the photo - love it. the play of light and shadows creates a good 3D feeling, and the way the sky pales at the horizon adds a feeling of great distance. excellent work, Way, my compliments.

hello Way
Splendid landscape shot.
Many of us may have a chance to visit a wonderful monument like this, but how many can produce a great POV and reflect the view of the actual scene on a photo?
I think you have done very well for this one. I like how you control the light and the shadow at the right although the shadow is really very difficult to manage here.

Hi, Way -
I saw Fulvio's shot near this scene, and he pointed me here. A great interpretation of an often overdone scene, with great use of the shadows and framing. Gonna be hard to top this for 100, but I'm sure you'll manage! (No pressure, though.)

Hi Way,
I love Monument Valley, one of the prettiest places on eart in my opinion.
Wonderful composition, lvoe the play of shadow and light and the colors are outstanding. I will return there for sure, who knows, maybe this time a snow covered Monument Valley? That`s something I really want to do since I`ve been told it sometimes even snows there.
Take care

Hello Way,
The low POV perspective of the series of red rock pillars is superbly captured. They seems here to be lined out just for you, positioned in the FG, middle G and distant BG. Wonder lighting and shadows.

Hi Way:
Excellent light on that beautiful Utah red rock. Very nice. Love those skies as well. I think you gave it just the right amount of polarization--I've had a tendency to fully polarize the image and get that lovely little dark blue triangle in the upper portion of the shot. You don't have that here, but you have deep blue skies, so I say well done.
